Default I took it to the track today 1/5/03

As soon as I got there I ran a 14.207 @ 101.59mph. My time I was hoping to get was atleast a 13.9. Second run I was spinning the tires so bad from the launch that the motor shut down on me and I creeped across the line to avoid any further embarrasment. My third run wasn't great either. There was so much rubber on the launch pad I couldn't get traction. It was a 14.829 @ 99.67. THE FOURTH RUN PAID OFF!! I found a good spot in the pad and ran a 14.066 @ 101.49!! I'm sure this car will do a tad bit better (not much) if I were to have let some air out of my rear tires. If any of you are wondering, I only had about an 1/8 of a tank of gas. No MODS- 14.0 seconds FLAT!! I'm content. I'm going to scan my time tickets and post them as soon as I can. KEEP IT ON THE TRACK. Siverstone Performance 6MT

Nice runs. 13's are not out of the question especially with your strong trap speeds.

Nice times! Maybe once you log a few more miles on that engine you'll hit 13's with ease. good job.

May be your problem, I find 2200 RPM is more then enough to get a jump and lose plenty for traction, I'm sure 3500 is just burning excess tire.

Looks like 3500 is a good spot to launch at judging by the 2.0 60ft times...sounds like the track had some good prep also

Default New back rubber

I have no 1/4 times yet but after I put a set of Yokohama AVS Sports on the back, I am beating a lot of 13 second cars on the street. I owned a highly modified RSX type S that turns consistend high 13s (documented).

bottom line .... the Z is a 13 second car with good rubber and a K&N drop in air filter

...hey daddyZ, you owned an RSX-S too?? I had an NBP RSX-S but all I had was an INJEN intake, AEM pulleys, comptech springs and Greddy front spoiler....I stopped modifications once I knew I wanted a Z (I was stuck with the crap stock tires) ....if you don't mind me asking, what all did you have done to your S

I find your times very odd, not doubting you but there just weird. I have a 2002 6spd max and I did the following time(my best)

60' 2.251
1/8 9.031 @ 82.35 MPH
1/4 13.883 @ 100.96 MPH

See my 60' and 1/8th is way slower then yours and my trap(on that run) is a tad slower too, seems impossible? Why did I complete the 1/4 mile faster then you with a worse 60' and a lower trap? For each tenth in the 60' you drop you about 2 tenths in your ET. So if I had your 60' I would run a 13.4-13.5, odd.. Some how I managed to catch up and pass you in the last 1/8 yet I was going slower at the end of the 1/4?

I was referred to this thread by emax. I also have a 2002 maxima and love the new z's. I find your time puzzling also because I happen to have a 13.9 @ 97.55 to my credit with the same exact 60' time of 2.03. It seems I am almost 4mph slower than you in the 1/4 but somehow have a quicker time with the same exact 60'. BTW I am and auto and was on slicks and have a video for proof for the non believers.
