a little cat and mouse with a 330ci
First of all I know the 350 is faster than a 330ci but my friend wanted to just see fast it was.
Anyways after both of us barrel down the 5 south to 605 south interchange at about 110mph we slow down to about 70 and tells me to punch so he could see if he can keep up. Anyways I drop it into 4th, tach was about at 4-4500 rpm and I pull away in about 2 to 3 seconds I had him by at least 9 car lenghts. I was thinking that was too easy, as it turned out he didn't downshift he just wanted to see how 5th pulls.
So anyways we cruise down to the 605 to 22 east interchange and line up. We punch it to about 130, the whole time I am pulling away easily ( but not leaving him in my dust) I reach to top of 5th and have to shift, this lets him catch up 1 car length. 140 we shut down. Not really racing but fun anyways.

Only the V8s are electronically limited to 155mph in this country because they are delivered with V or better-Rated tires. Look it up on their website if you don't believe me.

if you've ever driven a BMW, all this trivia would be irrelivant. BMWs, no matter how fast you're driving, make the driver feel like they are in control/connected to the car|road. Sure other cars do this too, but I found this the most in bimmers.
by the way, I shouldn't have said German cars are stable at high speed because they're German, but you have to admit: the majority of cars coming from Germany are better for performance driving. This means family cars, station wagons, and sports cars.

I don't dispute that, I think its true. The "feel" of BMWs is terrific, but other car makers are getting closer all the time and the money difference and the dealer attitudes are so arrogant, many people are completely turned off by them. Also, the reliability of German cars has fallen alarmingly in recent years. True, they have a good warranty, but who wants to be driving a loaner while your German car is in the shop?
Cars like the 350Z, G35C and Sedan are examples of the change in perception of all European cars, not just German ones, and Japanese cars are in an ascendency for now because they are reliable, less expensive and better cars than they were a decade ago. Lexus and to a lesser degree, Infiniti and Acura, are other examples of higher end cars that are easier to live with than many European cars.
As for that magical "feel", my 350Z was rock steady at 110mph in windy Okla., in spite of the OE tires. It is a better performing car for me than the 330iC I was considering earlier, and that goes for my flirtation with the E46 M3 too.
Boomer-use it or lose it, I don't care.
