I thought stock is about 1.0 bar (a little over 15psi), so he would be making maybe 240 crank hp tops. So a stock z should hand him his *** pretty easily.

...I thought 1 bar was closer to 30psi ....if its closer to 15psi then that makes perfect sense (15 -18 psi is what chipped WRX's run)

Stock is not 1.0 bar. It is 0.8 bar about 11lbs.
Do some research about a tuned 225hp 1.8T and you'd know that a 1.1bar chip on 93 octane alone gives me 265hp. And the mods keep going and going from there....

By the way, the stock Z didn't hand me my ***.

Cheers!

Ok, so you've still got 20hp less, more weight, more drivetrain loss and turbo lag. You've still got a long way to go to really be a threat to even a stock 350z.

Hey, I have nothing against the TT, I just wanted to point out that a "265 hp" TT is slower than a 287hp 350z. I don't own either, it's just common sense.

No sorry, I don't. READ: ...the mods keep going and going from there....

..more weight
77lbs difference...oh but who's counting.

..more drivetrain loss and turbo lag
Haldex AWD operates like FWD unless slipping occurs... drivetrain loss isn't nearly as bad as other Audi's which use Torsen. By the way the race was from a dead stop. As for turbo lag, I guess you know nothing about a K04 turbo.

I came to give a thumbs up on a good race to a driver of a 350Z nothing more. Not start a flame war.

I did read, an intake isn't gonna give you 22hp.

I'm not flaming, I'm just pointing out what is and isn't possible...

Hey 4SFEDTT,

I'm gonna do a little run with my friend's (actually wife's) Audi TT, equipped with an ABT chip. Should be fun . I'd race his S4...but uh, they have KO4s also . Road racing on the track should be a good match though.

cheers.

You're right! However... controlling the wastegate manually........ oh I give up.

www.howstuffworks.com That should teach you something about turbocharging. Seems you need it.

Old Skooler: Good to see you can appreciate my original post.
You all drive fantastic sports cars. From one enthusiast to another, again.... thumbs up!

Race went like this:

Playing cat and mouse through traffic. The Z was in front of me, I was following him through lanes. Not going ballistic or anything just switching lanes quickly. Then suddenly we were both in the left lane and the right hand lane opened up..he switched lanes and he punched it..i punched it.. i was on his rear, after passing some traffic in the left lane...it opened up...i switched lanes and he remained at full throttle in the right lane.... switching into 5th saw my self pull right along side his door.... immedietely after we both put the brakes on as traffic was approaching in front of us.

Not exactly the right conditions for a proper race, but as you can see he was not pulling me in any gear. In fact I came from behind and matched him.

You claim that you don't want to flame people here and then you say **** like that. Real class act dude.

My point was that I don't think your mod list indicates that you are putting out ~295 crank hp (about what you'd need to have the same hp/weight ratio as a 350z). Do you have a dyno sheet?

sounds fun, my wife has a jetta 1.8T with a GIAC chip, etc...

the fact that is has 240 ft lbs torque at 2000rpms, gives a very impressive feel. The Z is faster, but the jetta throws you back in your seat a lot harder, b/c of the way the turbo spools up.

guys NEVER underestimate what some of these moded S4 and TT 225hp cars can do, and if you are not ready (proper gear and rpms), it could be all over for the Z, I have caught some s2000's by surprise that thought they didn't need to try hard against a little Jetta, but buy the time Vtec kicked in I was gone.

m477, I'm not interested in making a believer out of you and I certainly wouldn't go out on a limb here to prove what my car can do by providing you dyno sheets. No I don't have dyno sheets. Why? Because a 4 wheel dyno is a bit hard to come by in S. Fla.

Regardless like I said before.. I didn't come here to flame anyone. In fact I believe I was mature and direct in my original post and it's obvious other people think so as well. I enjoyed our spirited run-in and came here to perhaps interact with the driver.

You, however, have posted nothing but doubt and scepticism on my part and have proved on top of everything, not knowing the merits of manually controlling a turbo's wastegate. It would seem the class act is you "dude".

Don't bother responding.
I know I won't.
