Default 350z vs. RSX-S vs. Turbo Civic Video

This is the same 350z in the GTP and Maxima video. The RSX type S has a hondata ecu flash and injen cold air intake. The civic is a turbo ex.

Nice video. That GTP is quick.

btw, an RSX-S with Hondata and CAI ran a 13.99 recently.

The Z in this vid got a better launch than when he ran against the Maxima and GTP...or the Civic and RSX-S just got a bad launch...

You have to remember that with the Maxima and GTP the 350 was against Six cyl engines, the GTP makes about 300 lbs of tq. The RSX and Civic and both 4 cylinders not making much tq off the line, all the power comes in when the secondaries open up. Probably accounts for the launch by the 350z. But it does appear he got a clean run in whereas with the GTP and Maxima both his runs weren't very good. That particular RSX-S ran a 14.5 at the track.

Just curious as to whether the Civic has any other work besides the basic Apex'i turbo kit? I would have expected it to put up a better match, but at only 5.5psi maybe I'm expecting a little too much?

*shrugs* I don't know Honda's Civic's and how they respond to turbos all too well...

Also, was this in FL (I'm judging from where you're from)? If so, where? I'd like to get my other car ('95 Celica) lined up with the likes of a Z, turbo Civic and an RSX-S. Let me know.

Regards,

iboost

I'm pretty sure the civic was only running 6psi. He is adding an intercooler and plans to run 9psi in the near future. At 6psi he is only putting down 140whp, but at 9psi should be 180-200whp and capable of low 14's or high 13's. No these races took place in TX not FL.

Damn that was a quick reply!

I guess I won't be surprising anyone then. Was hoping to see how my Celica @ 16psi would fare against the above mentioned competition. Maybe some other time & some other place.
