Almost two months and I still love my automatic. The best of both worlds.

 

ya its true u get best of both worlds... but like if people ask n **** and u say auto... its like....AUTO? lol..... but other then that.... stick seems to be alot faster and funner.. :\

 

Yeah when people say that I tell them I drive to work in traffic both ways so a standard for me is a hassle. Then I show them my latte that I'm drinking and say that I need my hand free so that I can hold my steaming hot coffee. That's the point that I throw my hot coffee in their face and kick them in the shin.

I have taken heat on the car for being AT but it's usually from a guy driving a Geo...unless it's at my local Z meeting. I got it for me and I got exactly what I wanted . I love it and that's all that matters.

 

Normally a stick _can_ be faster but, I just like shifting and clutching.. It just feels more like I am driving with the car rather than the car is driving me..

 

Man, you live in LA. The capital of traffic! You should love automatic, hahaha.

 

I drove both the stick and the 5AT - - the automatic is MUCH better for city driving. Actually I think that it is a bit fater than the manual. I have the auto and LOVE IT.

 

I drive in stop/go traffic to and from work everyday (I have a 6sp manual). It keeps me awake. I use to fall asleep all the time while driving my old Accord and almost kill myself haha
It can get tiring but I really don't mind it at all.

 

I also live in a large, congested city and the AT suits me just fine. Also, it seems that the sequence of the traffic lights are set to perfectly impede the smooth, efficient flow of cars throughout the city. Or else, Nissan has installed a transmitter in my Z that activates every red light as I approach it! Paranoid? Constantly shifting would be quite tiresome and annoying. Love my Z! Can't wait until spring to let the beast loose.

Get a high converter and you will hang with the sticks, with a ultra-high perf. one you will surpass them. I dont know what kind of mods are around at the moment in terms of transmissions though.

 

At 100+ mph, automatic has nothing against the manual.

 

Shhhhh.... Im trying to make the guy feel better about the fact that his gift from his father (you are spoiled by the way) is not as perfect as he would want. Think, he will never know the joys of heel 2 toe, rev matching, or a double clutch downshift with nothing but a perfect rev match to hard acceleration. I hate autos for the notch in speed they cause when downshifting.

 

Practice shifting in manual mode and don't lift off the gas when you shift. If you get the shifts right, you won't need to have a6MT to enjoy it.

 

I wish my dad would wreck my life and buy me a fully loaded Z automatic. Is your father taking applications? Maybe you should be happy you are not stuck with a 1982 Hatchback?

 

no dont get me wrong... im really happy.... tip tronic is fun as **** neway and i already know how to drive stick.. but i kinda regret it.. but its cool whatever.. on the long run i'd keep this neway.

 

When you're crusing down PCH, girls won't care if you drive an auto or manual . Trust me on that one.
