Talking Finally saw and raced a Z in town.

I live in a really small town but I am originally from Atlanta. I have seen plenty of the new Z's and even driven one but never seen any here in Bainbridge. Today I got out of school, let my car warm up and headed back home for lunch. As I was leaving, something caught my eye and it was a new Z so I flagged him down and he came to talk. The guy was cool and his car was cooler. It was black with Axis 7-spokes I believe. Anyways, it had an intake and about 1200 miles on it. We talked for a while and then we left. I took off from the light right out from school and he followed. Traffic cleared and he pulled up next to me. #1-We went from about 30 and I started pulling from the start. He was in my blind spot(about the 1/4 panel) the whole race. I was impressed...#2-We went from a dig. I totally obliterated him. I went up to about 65 and he was at least 5 cars back. He said he bogged and I believed him so...#3-Again from a stand still, we went and he stayed just off of my back bumper. We gave eachother thumbs up and headed our seprate ways. I was totally impressed with his car. I was happy with the outcome since my car has an auto that needs a rebuild badly. When they finally come out with some mods, Im gonna have to look out.

Nice race!

My ex-GF had a purple 93 Z28 about 3 years ago and I used to drive it all the time(she got it with 40K on it and crashed it at 55K ). It was also auto. It was quick but didn't seem as quick as my Z is.. What kinds of mods do you have on it? And does yours govern at like 108 also? I used to hate that on her car, you seriously could not stomp it for more 5-10 seconds on the highway since the govener came on what seemed like instantly!

I have exhaust and suspension stuff, just like the sig says. To be exact, I have BMR lower control arms, Relocation brackets, Eibach Pro-kit, and a custom exhaust. No real power adders. My dyno #s were 246hp and 282tq. It was some good running. It was fun and that is what its all about....well, and winning.

No, my car does not cut me off at 108mph, I would have sold it a LONG time ago if that was the case.

Good kill.

I didn't know any Z28's cut off at 108?
Maybe the previous owner stuck a governor on it (if a teen owned it or something).

I have taken my Z28's speedo off the dash...so about 160.

I havent gotten mine up that fast before but I do hit 100 just about every day. I think it is good for the car. Ok, maybe its just a rush and Im a speed junkie. Yea, thats it. I saw the Z again this morning but no fireworks today, just revs and waves.

No problem. I do that all the time. Like I said, I was very impressed with his car. I drove one about 2 weeks back and I loved the way it handled but didnt feel like it pulled like they do. I wasnt able to hammer on it or anything but still I didnt think they were this strong. They are cool cars.

Yea, Im in Tallahassee all the time. I was not aware that there was an autoX track or an industrial park in town. Oh well, I just moved. Do you live in Tally? Is that your S2000? It looks good. Later

Yeah, I go to school at FSU. Thats my S2000. I don't autox it at the site here I try to only use it at large events or events on good surfaces. I borrow cars to run here in town. One of these days I'll get stuck running the wagon. Go check out www.dixiescca.com for details on where we run.

Cool car Mrsideways. My girl goes to FSU and I am always in town because there is nothing to do in Bainbridge. I will have to keep my eyes open for you whenever I am in town. I drive a yellow Z28 so if you see me, flag me down. Later
