On the way to work today I came across one of my coworkers in his C5. We had three runs and they went as follows.

1st run: We start at about 50 side by side, I'm in 3rd and his car catches the lower gear and he pulls me by approx 3 cars to approx 110mph.

2nd run: We start at about 70, I'm in 4th and his car does not catch the lower gear. The race starts with me directly behind him approx 3 cars back. I get a slight jump on him and I pull up on him and then move to go around, I end up 1 car back by approx 110mph.

3rd run: We start at about 70 again. We are side by side, I get the initial jump and up to 115mph he still has not caught me.

We then drove to our respective stores and immediately called each other and relived our runs. Lots of fun! By the way his car has an exhaust and sounds mean as hell, its also lowered and has chrome Z06 wheels.

my boss has a red C5 vette its auto and convert he has an exhuast and chip i raced him also one day after work and i beat him but not by much he was a little behind my bumper when i looked back he was really supprised, he also had a passanger and i didnt we only went to 120 then we shut down we went from a 5mph roll, btw nice kill!

 

I know things just work out the way they work out, but next time you might want to start the race before you're already 15 over

Didn't you hear, we had a German elected to mayor of Dallas and he has converted all highways into autobahns. Plus, anyone caught going under 70 is sent for additional drivers training at Texas Motor Speedway. I made in to work yesterday in 12 minutes and its 20 miles away.

Nice race, keep racing what ever is in your way, no matter what people say. always race for fun, not to see who is the fastest.

 

Nice runs. When you beat him once his transmission was probably in a place at where it wouldn't downshift thus slowing him down. I believe that you could beat a stock LS1 with an automatic from a roll. I know my auto wasn't too impressive before I installed a loose torque converter. Enjoy your cars!
