Default Lets Hear Some of Your Stories From the Track !

I've been to Willow Springs, Big Track & Streets, Button Willow, Laguna Seca, and Thunder Hill. I have only had the chance to see 1 other 350Z owner who actually tracks his car. I've seen post from guys asking what pads they run on track, or there recomendations on performance upgrades, but I havn't seen many of you guys actually out there.
How many of you other 350z owners actualy take your car to the track??
How many of you guys are actually Driving HARD?
I'd love to see some photos or hear some stories!

I have a really feeble website now dedicated to my 350Z (used to be my Audi A4 ) Not a whole lot of play-by-play from my last outing at Texas World Speedway, but some pictures and details.

I'm going back to Texas World Speedway this weekend. I'll post more impressions of the Z next week.

Hey Pete,

Are you planning on attending the Apr 12-13 Driver's Edge DE at MSR? I'm registered for that. I'm also thinking about attending PCA Mayfast at Hallett. I took my SE-R there last year and it was blast.

Michael.

I've been to Summit Point, Pocono, CMP, VIR, Roebling Road, and Road Atlanta. I've only been to the track on my racebike, but I'll see if I can dig up some old pics to post.

I've got about 150 miles left to break in the motor, then I'm going to start looking for track days. I don't really plan on changing anything on my Z except for tires, brakes, and oil. I'm really curious to see how fast cars go, compared to the lap times that I am used to seeing.

My only track experience so far was 2 days at Laguna Seca. I had an excellent time both days, but spun out exiting turn 4 and narrowly missed a wall. I did an approximate 560 before the gravel stopped me. Luckily the only damage was some slightly scratched stock 18" wheels.

I hope to go to Sears Point and Thunderhill, but the money situation may not allow that.

The car is currently at the Auto Body shop to get a door ding repaired (somewhat ironic to almost crash at a track, yet have the only real damage occur in a parking lot) and I'll be changing the rear brake pads when I get the car back.

Hopefully I'll have the Stoptech 13" front brakes by the next track event, but again with the money shortage.

I got to meet raceboy at Laguna, and a couple others who I haven't seen post, but all in all it was an excellent time and I can't wait to go back. I have a thread with a picture of me through the corkscrew around here somewhere.

Well, it may not be the 350Z, but I am heading out with either Trackmasters or PDA to Limrock or Watkins Glen this year. Just have to see who I can get together and who wants to come. Should be a blast. This is going to be my first real track racing except for drag strips and autoX!!

I'll be driving Watkins Glen in July, and look forward to it.

As of yet, I've driven Summit Piont, VIR, and in a few weeks I'll add Mid-Ohio to my list of tracks I've tackled with my Z. And yes, I've been the only 350Z at all the track events I've attended.

Nope... can't make it to MSR in April. And, Hallett is just WAYYYY too far from Houston.

I will be at MSR for the next Driver's Edge event... I think in September.

I like going to TWS since it's 80 miles from my apartment. Maybe I'll see you at TWS or MSR sometime.

After I started this thread my friend sent me these photos in an e-mail. The e-mail was entitled "How was your Day at the Track???"

The pictures answer the question perfectly.

So far I've had my Z to Cecil County and to a porsche club auto-X, and there is another auto-x coming up this month, I'm taking it to Beaver Springs this weekend and then a FATT session at Summit Point. I have a video of my Z going through the cones, but it is about 20 minutes long so it is a bit too large to upload.

I did two days at sears point in january, and there was a black Z there the second day (don't think he is a forum member though). I did spin out once, getting on the throttle a bit too hard coming out of turn 11. I did get some in car footage with a hommade camera mount. my best time was 2:06 something. Since then I have decided that I will probably stick to autocross, since my Z is my daily driver, and I don't want to put that much wear and tear on it. I have done 4 autocrosses so far, and am tied for first with C Ray Z in the novice class (would probably be around 15th in the regular class, so I have got a lot to learn)
