Audito350Z,
Just got back from a Coastal Bend Region PCA event, the South Padre Island Spring Fling, staged at Cameron County Airport just north of Port Isabel (port to South Padre Island!), TX. It was wet and dirty, but still had some fun driving, looking at all of the different vehicles (barely half were Porsche), and watching the Spring Breakers getting pulled over left and right.
I am a novice and left VDC turned ON. Not my first event, but the first with my Z. Had a Z club buddy show up in his stock '70 240Z and we ended up being the only two in our class for the time trials at the end of the second day. I was slow for my car and he was fast for his car, only 5 seconds behind me. It was a 2.5 mile circuit.
The best experience is yet to come this April 26-27 at the Texas World Speedway - a Lone Star PCA-sponsored driving school. Can you, or any other 350Zs reading this make it to this event with me??? Their entry form is at http://www.lsrpca.com/DE/DE_regis_forn5a.htm . The cost is $275 for two days, with 3 or 4 30-minute runs per day and classroom instruction both days.

I was just wondering if any of you guys have heard of SpeedTrials?
They promote amature events and open track days. All you need is your car and a helmet. They do tech inspections at the track and have a drivers meeting in the morning. The rest of the day is broken up into differentrun groups where you get 20-30 minute sessions about 6 or more times a day.
Its probably the best open event I've done. LOTS of track time. Safe and fun enviroment.
Check this link to see of there is an event near you.
SpeedTrials Schedule
The next event I am doing is April 10th at Willow Springs (Streets of Willow). I am currently building a Honda Civic to race in the Honda Challenge events and will be testing that car on the 10th and will also bring my 350Z for some much needed track time.
