Steve,
You have the Nismo S-tune suspension in your Z and I read your review. Do you by chance have the spring rates for that kit? I can't seem to find them anywhere.
Thanks in advance.
Jeff

Steve,
Have you ever been/raced at Nelson Ledges in Ohio? I used to
race against a Steve Kaufman years ago - just wondering. I had an ITS RX7 and he had a Z.

Yea - "that" Steve is a nice guy - - nice to meet you too - - so what do you race? I used to do alot of SCCA nationals, went to the runoffs, etc - - tried to go pro, just to many drivers looking for the sponsorship money - - sold everything and moved to Fla.
Take care,
Steve

I am not racing constantly now anymore myself. Still race karts about once a month and do a lot of track days.
I raced in the Barber Formula West Series in the late '80's early 90's and did quite well, but alas same problem; too many people, not enough sponsorship money to go around. I saw a lot of drivers that I had beaten go higher up the latter because they were just more connected than I was. In what other sport does that happen?
At this point in my life, I just like to drive for the fun of it. It's fun and relaxing where actual racing and trying to climb the latter was very stressful and full of pressure. I have no regrets. (Well maybe just a few

Steve,
I think the cream may not always rise to the top in more sports than we think. Sports with sponsors and where results are determined by judges - boxing, skiing, skating come to mind. Have a friend who pitched and coached in the yankee system and he said the players that go up are often just in the right place at the right time and that many as good or better never get the chance for the majors.
I'm pretty new to autoracing, but the amount of $$ required is mind boggling. The stuff you read, see and hear on tv about the cost of a race team is unbelievable. I cann't see how an individual could even find the $$ to do the amateur stuff without going broke pretty quick. How many cars leave a race with a major mechanical problem that costs a lot to fix?? Seems like at least 1/3 of the field is typical. The risks to life and the cars are huge, which I suppose is part of the thrill.
Anyway, I've only gotten to watch racing, you guys have gotten to do it. Damn.
