Default 1st autoX of the season

The weather was absolutely horrible. It hovered around 30 degrees and the wind was vicious the entire weekend. I had 2 pair of pants, 3 shirts, 2 pair of gloves and a winter coat and still froze! But it was worth it! 63 drivers showed up!

First race of the season is nerve-racking. The Z has only been out of storage for about 2 weeks. Did I even remember how to drive it??? I also offered up the car to a co-driver. That added a little extra pressure. What if he beat me in my own car? I'd never live that one down.

I'll get right to it. The car performed way better than I anticipated. It is still stock (including the summer tires). It felt like we were sliding all over the place. Couldn't hear the times being announced so we had no idea how we compared to other people. I did have a stopwatch with me and I thought my co-drive had beaten me. I figured if the car at least won it's class I would be happy.

Here are the top results from the stock class only:

AS--Z06 59.588
BS--350Z 57.114
CS--MR-2 56.292
ES--Miata 57.642
FS--Impala 67.281
GS--CRX 57.675
HS--Capri 57.723

I won BS (beat all the boys) and my co-driver took second with a 58.416! In the Pax index I was 10th out of 63 and he was 17th. Never expected to do that well! I better enjoy it while I can because when the warm weather hits and some of the people get their race tires on, I doubt the results will be the same. BTW, ran around 42psi all around.

Had a great time and look forward to doing battle again.

That's funny, that C-class MR2 beat every time posted, even that of the Z06. A good driver?

He was a good driver, plus the course had several tight hairpins and two slaloms so it tended to favor the smaller cars I think. I don't think the Z06 driver was having a good day.

Hey DarkTalon, you're Z look hot! I love the wheels - they really fill out the guards well. I like the standard rear spoiler, but yours looks great (Is it Nismo?). It and the other accessories really makes a statement about being a seriously quick conveyance. Also, in Australia, we don't have your colour option either so I got the Platinum (Chrome Silver in your language, I think).
I suspect an engine mod or two under your bonnet??

That explains everything.
Thanks
