Do I want to race? I am assuming you mean actual racing, not just a straight line drag strip run? Sure come on out to Texas World speedway during the next couple of events and we'll see how your car stacks up when you have to brake, corner, and downshift. Lets see how complete of car AND driver you are. It that what you mean?

Need to have at lease a little respect for all forms of racing and the skill it takes to do them well...
(getting off my soap box now...thank you)

Point taken. Just giving some perspective about there is more to actual racing than launching and shift points. More skill is required to road race in my opinion, which is why I love the Z. Well rounded.

I've done both strait line, and twisties...they are both two different typs of skills (obvioulsy)....just don't think it is realy fair to say one takes any more, or any less skill then the other....
Not trying to start a flame war or anything...this is just one (of many
) of my pet pevs....peace.

Well that's cool, me too. To refer to this thread, and to someone asking to "race" a Z for $500, that has a ws6. I'm sure he/she would reconsider, or wouldn't be so arrogant, if it involved road racing.
If you think that drag racing takes as much skill as any other kind of racing you're an idiot!
Any idiot can take a Z-28 and run 13 second 1/4 miles. Do you really think drag racing is just as other forms of racing?
Yeah maybe driving a 5 second top fuel dragster takes skill. Drag racing a 13+ second car takes about as much skill as racing lawn mowers.

btw, why do you think Michael Shumacher makes 100x the $$ that Neckcar and NHRA guys make??
in a F1 or CART car you ACCELERATE after EVERY freaking TURN, not just 1X (along with breaking, turning both ways, adjusting wt in the CAR as you are driving 180-240 MPH, etc...)

Of all you smartasses who think drag racing is so easy, have any of you actually been to and raced at a drag strip? If you have then you know that anyone can get the car down the strip, but its not as easy as you think eeking out a decent performance compared to what you car is capable of. And the higher the hp of the car, the harder it gets. But im not gonna convince any of you of anything you dont already belive in. But i can tell you this.....assuming just because you see an Fbody that you have a vehicle that cant brake and handle around a road course, your sadly mistaken. With a modicum of suspension work and the right tires, drivers being equal, an Fbody would show you tail lights on a track. And the more open tracks like VIR, it wouldnt even be funny. But to the original post, i doubt even any of the members on this board are so arrogant about their cars as to race a LS1 in a heads-up street race. Despite all of what has been said on here, there is no competition there. Ive raped 4 350Zs so far, one with mods. They arent even in the same league power wise. Oh and speaking of going fast in a strait line being so easy, tell that to the 350Z i raced a few weeks ago from a light and he bogged and sputtered his **** off the line. I feathered first just to make it look good and when he finally got hooked up and underway, i proceded to lay waste to him. But hey, im sure all the people who saw the race were thinking "aww **** thats nothing, its easy to accelerate in a strait line, if there were curves that Z28 woulda gone down"
Riiiigghhttt. Realize that the in the realistic realm of street racing, there are no corners. Peace.

sometimes the parade laps get boring, BUT not nearly as boring as racing is a circle, having one guy lead the last 50 laps and on the last lap get bumped out of the way by teh 2nd place guy, I don't call that racing, sorry
btw, yes, JVs skills have gone down, why do you think that over the past few years he has constantly been out qualified buy his own team mate whether it be Panis or Button. JV has lost a lot of drive and his results show.

If you are going to say "If" whatever, just wait til the Turbos on Zs hit the streets.
