umm.. how about NO. Any idiot? I see plenty of idiots getting 15 and 14 second passes in camaros. You think its easy to launch a car with more HP and TRQ at the wheels than the 350Z has at its crank? Hell no. Getting off the line clean and cutting a .5 or a pro tree light is very difficult.. hitting your shifts perfectly..everytime. As for anyone that thinks driving an Automatic is simple.. I have a manual valvebody, which means I have to shift, I just don't have a clutch to operate.. which if I had a T56 wouldn't matter..since I would only use the clutch to launch anyways Hitting shifts and launching are very difficult.. Ask anyone that has run at a track for a long time and they will tell you they have some really shitty times.. or they won't, depends on how bad they were I don't really follow Nascar ..however from a certain perspective it looks very easy. Until you realize they are doing well over 165mph and running within feet maybe inches of one another.. then it becomes a completely different scenario. I tell you what.. go grab a Camaro and head over to a track.. cut off a nice 13 second timeslip and come back..let me know how easy it was.

 

We can get turbos. Anyways..actually in stock vs stock form the 350Z has NOTHING on an LS1. Honestly if you believe differently your as mistaken as a Stock LT1 is. Well over 50hp at the wheels diference.. Live axle vs IRS (Or whatever name Nissan has for your rear suspension) Even if the 350Z hooked first... running the cars to their fullest limits...way past a 1/4 mark...and the LS1 would be hitting 160 waaaaaaaay before the 350Z could get there.

By the way... It takes an LS1 powered car under 12 seconds to hit 100mph You guys hit it in what.. 14? Trust me ..I speak from experience here.. I once ran 14s..low 14s in a stock LT1 Automatic. Every LS1 I messed with tore me a new *******. It can't possibly be any different for you guys. In a decently modded status I can beat, edge out, or still lose a little to any given LS1. Yes virginia the LS1 is THAT much faster.

 

Not worried in the least. There nothing thats gonna go on the 350Z anytime soon that a lil shot of spray wont take care of. And now you guys are starting to sound like the Civic crowd...."OH OH Lemme go spend $5k on a turbo and then we'll see what happens" I'll tell you what will happen, all you *** clowns who think "drag racing is for dumbshits and anybody can do it" are gonna actually have some horsepower to play with and low and behold, you spent a couple months pay to run 13.0 @ 110 mph w/ a 2.6 sec 60 ft time. I tell fbody owners of things I learn here just the same as I correct peoples post on here. Why come here to talk ****? Really .. why bother? The 350Z is a sexy car and performs very well. IMO the 350Z is a better car than the F-Body.

Now as far as straight line performance the LS1 is the fastest car bought new for $23k I can think of! As a matter of fact, I don't think anything touches it till around $40k.

The F-Body has a great front suspension combined with the best setup solid rear axle available, but is far from IRS.

Refinement, materials used, build quality and technology is most definately favored on the 350Z side.

If only Nissan had a factory twin turbo 350Z making 350+rwhp, this whole thread would not be here. As we all know, that is not a reality for now.

 

I think this is hilarious how many trolls are on this forum trying rationalize this. The difficultly level of 13 secs and 3 shifts vs. a 2min lap time.

We know an LS1 has more power. And STOCK, we know the Z handles better. Each car has their advantages and disadvantages. We do not need to keep rehashing them with these arguments.
