It just seems to me that the majority of the races i read about on this board involving fbody/350z encounters seem a bit.....skewed. The educate part comes in with the video....a simple video of an LS1 and a 350Z full out racing, just so everyone sees what the deal is.
And I don't believe they're as skewed as you think... re-read your own statement above. There's a big difference between a non-LS1 F-body and an LS1 F-body. Any comments I recall reading about a 350Z in an F-Body vs. 350Z race did not single out the F-body as an LS-1 (unless that person admitted to being beaten)

Much as you may find it hard to believe, most of the regulars here are pretty car-savvy and know much about the competition.

Considering your perspective on things, I respect your attempt to 'educate', but try to remember there are other perspectives to view from... and your attempt to 'educate' those that already know the facts comes off as arrogant and presumptuous on your part.

Here are a few things I have to add.. this goes along with and probably reinforces what mcduck just said. Everyone is just assuming these cars are LS1 models. When in fact most people have a hard time knowing what year any of these cars are. Ive had my car mistaken for a much newer car than it actually is. One of the perks of owning a 4th gen. Any of the races on here could have very well been a LT1 car.

Two races Im going to mention both happened within the last two weeks. The first race was against a 98 T/A (LS1) and the second race was against a 97 T/A (LT1). The 98 T/A was purely a drivers race and very very close... I ended up beating it... T/As nose at my front tire. The second race against the 97 was pathetic. A slaughter. I let it have half a car length and pulled past it with little effort. There is a huge power difference between the LT1 and LS1. .5 ~ 1 second difference in the 1/4 and 3~10mph trap difference. I would say the 98 T/A I raced was a very strong LS1..I have also encountered a 01 SS that I pulled on much easier. Many variables.. thats why I like to let the other car make the first move. Anyways.. In stock form my LT1 ran 14.1 @ 97mph. Could have easily been taken down by a strong running 350Z. Of course with that ET stricktly a drivers race. Hopefully we can more details about some of the future races..and I hope with the info that everyone has been trading (I have learned a great deal about the Z33 recently ) They will be able to give those details and know a bit more about the cars. Have fun out there! Be safe!

The only Z vs LS1 race thread on this board I've actually read was BriGuyZ's, because he is a good friend of mine (actually he called me right after the race happened and he described it to me). Anyhow, he raced an A4 SS which we all assume was stock. My question is this, what does a bolton LS1 6spd have to do with a race such as the one described above? Or have other people been claiming to beat 6spd bolt on LS1s.

I beat a c5 at the track.

Got my *** handed to me by a ZO6

and BARELY lost to a Cobra that missed a gear or broke something.

I imagine an LS1 and a Z would definitely come down to driver ability.

A ls1 and a z would not be a drivers race...there is nearly a second between the two. From a roll, from a stop, a4, or m6 in no way, shape, or form would it be a drivers race. I've raced a 350z and it wasn't pretty...and that was just to the end of second...in third it just got plain ugly. I'm sorry to sound mean but its just not gonna happen...i know that some of you know this but i've seen a couple of people on here claim to beat ls1's and thats just not gonna happen. My car isn't the fastest but i do make a point to know what will beat me and a 350z is not something that i remotely worry about.

I agree, the ls1 driver would REALLY need to *** up to lose.
