Ok heres the deal. Ive read and read and read on here all these stories about the now infamous LS1 vs. 350Z debate and i want to get something on video, for the record, for all those in doubt. Im not being an ***, im not wanting to run for money, and i have nothing bad to say about the 350Z. In fact, who so ever decideds to meet up will more than likely get along great with me. But basically i want to get a good run, from a stop and from a roll, with a 350Z. If theres one with some basic mods, great, all the better. You see what i have in my sig. Im not stock, but then ive been out run by stock LS1s before. Once again i dont want this to be some ridiculous flame fest of a post, no, more an educational experiance for everyone on this board. Please take me seriously and dont come back like im crazy for wanting this race. There seem to be plenty of LS1s going down to 350Zs. So lets do this. Peace.

PS, If you just dont do the street racing thing (which i understand and respect), i would be more than happy to meet up with you at Mooresville (1/8 mi. track for non locals). This thursday looks promising weather-wise.

I gotta tell ya, most of these guys are fantasy racers! I'll be real surprised if you get anyone of them to take you up on your offer. Oh, and all the Z06 eating, firebreathing, Cobra crunching 350Z's seem to be located out in California, 'nuff said.

Seems to me you guys are confused. In case you haven't realized it yet, 350z's run low 14's to high 13s stock. A bit slower in a straight line than an "average" well driven LS1s.

As far as posts of people bragging about beating LS1s? I've heard of & have seen stock LS1s run low 14s, driven by shitty drivers, or just crappy running cars.

So yes, if some jackass bad driver pulls up to me in an LS1, he will be beat. However, any decent driver will pull on a 350z.

I don't see what you guys are trying to prove. You don't see me calling out RSX's or Celica's to prove my 350z is faster.

Anyways, I'd race ya if you were closer to Chicago. Racing is fun to me, win or lose.

i dont know about charlotte area Z's but i do know a few heavily modded GS400s that would be very up for the challenge. especially from a roll. let me know and i can set it up. or if you want to do it yourself, go to www.clublexus.com . im sure that Dex, DaveGS4, or Tomtnc will be more than happy to oblige....

funny how there are some posts about a Z hanging with Z28s or whatever and guys suddenly claim that Z owners say that they can eat Z06s?? did I miss something in the translation?? Talk about an exageration, geez.

btw, Stock for stock and same driver, I think the Z28 is quicker in a straight line, I am not here to argue that point.

 

I don't understand why all of these guys with Ls1's mustangs and WS6's keep coming on this bord talking crap about how fast thier cars are. I know you are not talking to much **** compared to most of the trolls but it is obvious you want to get a vid of you putting the smack down on a Z and post it on an LS1 bord. I also have a Supra and would be happy to hand your LS1 it's *** but that would be even less fair than a modded LS1 against a stock Z. All I am trying to say is if your going to pick a race you should hop and skip your way over to the Mustang bord or Ws6's bord so you can race with people in your same class with V-8's ect...

 

I have to agree with others here... where have you seen posts of someone claiming to beat a Cobra or Z06 with a 350Z (or LS1 or even a new MachI)? Not here... at least not in a straight line battle. Now, I know some Mustangs and Camaros have been handed their butts in road course racing, but this just places emphasis on the strengths/weaknesses of all the cars mentioned.

I think if you look, you'll find the posts where 350Zs have won have typically been against normal GTs, Z28s, and Trans Ams. Since I have raced a Bullitt GT pretty much to a tie, I know better than to toy with a Cobra.

But if you just have to have a video of your LS1 crushing a 350Z for your Camaro.com website or whatever, I'll make a deal with you. I'll meet up with you the week prior to installing a Twin Turbo kit on my Z and we'll race... then, the week after we'll meet up again so I can post my video of an LS1 being crushed by my 350Z here... okay? sheesh....

Not to join in the pointless call out here. However I just wanted to share a little information with you guys. LS1 TT - Available NOW.

As far as the rest of this post. We ALL understand where the 350Z sits. No need to keep bringing it up. I initially wanted to help inform people of what the Fbody was capable of.. not flame everyone regarding its "superiority" Take it easy guys. This is how I deal with things..if I ever encounter one while im driving around and happen to race it ..great. However calling someone out knowing that you run faster than them solves nothing.

Like my friend who wanted to race me really bad when I was stock. He kept calling me out.. finally I showed him my track slip (14.1 @ 97mph) and asked what he ran. He said "13.9 @ 99mph". I said look..you win..end of story. Anything can happen on the street..but I only take track times serious. So ... keeping that in mind ..whats the point of racing an LS1 vs 350Z other than for the hell of it? There isn't any..... That being said... Have a good day guys.... Im outty.

 

Actually some of us do RedC5 Mainly. Of course once again..we all know where we stand. We do get ignorant ******** once in a while..for the most part trolls have been eliminated.

 

Alright, well this turned out about how i figured it would. I ask for a fair race with a 350, not to post on an LS1 board, they would all laugh and say yeah, thats great, we knew that. I want it posted here, where the education is needed. But anywho all i got was a bunch of people with heavy modded cars coming out of the woodwork to offer races that wont ever happen. Please dont talk about what other people have to race with. I dont care if theres a few GS400s with 10k in the motors that can whip me. So what, ive been beat before. (Not to mention i know nitrous and blown LS1s that will likly make that Lex look stupid). And ive seen plenty of Supdawgs go down to LS1s (and vice-versa). You arent invincible trust me. And plenty of LS1s talk **** on the Supra boards, its been a running battle for years now. This got me about as far as i thought it would. Just trying to prove a point. And as to why "all" of us LS1 guys are here, we're constantly seeing re-posts about LS1s loosing to 350Zs and we see the need to set the record strait. Thats all. Peace.

 

The LS1 (especially a modified one) with equal drivers will win against a 350Z on the 1/4 mile track. But from personal experience, my impression is that the 350Z will hang even or win against one from 90+, I know i'd sure like to try again.

The 'Racing' forum is a place to discuss experiences in speed competitions. No one is out to say that your car sucks, is slow, or ours is better. There surely isn't a single justifiable reason to discourage people from posting 'kills' if they want, regardless of any attributing factor.

You're the one that needs to be educated on not coming across so offensively. Learn how to talk to people. You don't address a group of car enthusiasts with an offer to "educate" everyone.

 

Funny how this is the only board i ever get comments like that. Im an active member on about 6 other car related boards, and i get along just great. Hell i get along just great here. Im not trying to come off like a blowhard, and i dont think anyone hates my car. Besides, i wouldnt care if they did. Im just the type guy that shots strait, and i like to see things likewise. Thats all. I dont use the word "educate" in a demeaning manor. It just seems to me that the majority of the races i read about on this board involving fbody/350z encounters seem a bit.....skewed. The educate part comes in with the video....a simple video of an LS1 and a 350Z full out racing, just so everyone sees what the deal is. But hey, im tired of arguing the subject. I learned a long time ago that when it comes to internet racing, nobody wins. Thats why i offered the race.

ZX- yes im sure your 350 would do quite well up against any previous generation fbody.

Hows this for a contest, you take your 1/4 mi....13.24 @ 108.50 2.24 60ft z28 and I will take my DB 350z to the beach and lets see which car gets more looks.. Also at 100,000 miles lets see which car is in better running condition...

The reason a 350z owner is probably not gonna wanna race you would be the same reason you probably wouldn't want to race a modded DSM running mid 12's..

 

easy there playboy. i was simply trying to facilitate some fun. not trying to start anything. if i still lived in charlotte, i would take you up on the offer, even though i dont have a Z. the cars and guys that i was talking about are simply car enthusiasts that like to test there cars against some good competition. by the way, they would more than likely lose. nothing too serious. and especially nothing to get worked up about. no forced induction, no NOS, etc. but you do what you will. just trying to help guess we dont get educated now, huh?
