Default We finished building the Race Car!! PIX

The car is finished and this weekend it's in its first race in Phoenix, AZ. I'll let you all know the results as soon as I get them. Sorry pictures weren't as forth coming as I had hoped during the build, but here is the end result.

Good luck at the first race!

Quick question: what kind of wheels are you guys running...they look like CCWs. What sizes are they?

As far as performance mods: The class the car runs (Grand Am Cup) requires the car to remain "mostly" stock. The suspension has be upgraded but that's about it. We even run a factory stock clutch.... which we blew up in testing. dwnshift races in the same class and has more info than I do on how we're doing:

As far as the wheels go we had those built special for us and are in the process of manufacture and distribution from our store. I still don't have the final pricing or release date on those yet.

Jeff,

Sounds like the car ran well in its debut race. Are you doing the entire series?

Well, we're going to miss the next race as they repair the car and do some more testing and tuning, but we will be at the California Speedway next. As far as I understand we will be running the series, but I will have to verify that fact.

Congratulations on a great debut at PIR! Your team's lap times were right in there with the best of them - almost unheard of for a new car launch. I look forward to seeing the car in person at CA Speedway next month.

Jeff - Sounds like a plan. I am working with a team presently to compete in the Grand-Am Cup race at CA Speedway in STII (unless a certain 350Z team needs an extra driver!), so hopefully I'll be there all weekend. I'm also competing in the Mazdaspeed Miata Cup at Buttonwillow May 23-25 and in the Mazdaspeed Cup race at Laguna Seca in support of CART the weekend following CA Speedway. Come on up if you're not otherwise occupied.

You guys have done a nice job with the car. Its nice to have some company in the GS2 class.
FYI ...UNitech is using some of the 350EVO suspension components ( front and rear sway bars, solid bushing kit) on their 350Z.

Hey nice car, what suspension are you running on it? are you running all 350EVO?

What performance mods does the series allow?

This would be a better question answered by BJ (dwnshift). I'm just a mushroom with this. I get to fetch factory parts as needed and go to the races and support the team as time permits. Sorry I don't have the answers.

They are using 350EVO front and rear adjustable sway bars, our Delrin bushing kit, and Moton triple adjustable shocks.
Front upper control arms are coming and rear lower control arms.

Default Race car

Jeffh355 am I going to see you at the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta with that car this year? I was hopping to see one at Sebring this past March but no luck. I had to settle for those beautiful Bentleys Speed 8's. Oh well. That car looks beautiful. I can't believe all the after market stuff they have in Japan for these cars. I can't wait to get wheel on mine.

Good Luck with that baby.

I hope so. I'm not sure of their schedule yet. The team is still getting the car ready and building up their spare parts collection....that's where I come in.
