Went with my friend Nealoc187 to US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, MI this weekend. Conditions wern't bad, about 60F and a slight headwind.
The track seemed REALLY slow compared to what I'm used to around Chicago. Many cars were running much slower than I've seen them run in the past. There were TWO 99+ stang GT 5-speeds there....they were both running 14.5-14.8@94-96mph all day long. There was a stock Acura TL-S running low 16s@90mph and my buddy Neal's maxima who's previous best was 13.6@101 ran a best of 13.9@98 on slicks. It wasn't a traction problem because everyone was pulling really good short times. Anyway, onto my times.
First run:
car popped out of gear on my launch and when I finally got in back in gear well past the 60' I ended up running 17.0@97
Way to represent since I was the ONLY z at the track.
Second run:
clean run except bumped the rev limiter on the 3-4 shift.
60' 2.097
330' 5.934
1/8 ET 9.105
1/8 MPH 78.97
1000' 11.779
1/4 ET 14.067
1/4 MPH 99.33
Third run:
slipped the clutch a little too much on launch and burned the hell out of it through first and second, bumped the rev-limiter on the 2-3 shift.
60' 2.189
330' 6.017
1/8 ET 9.177
1/8 MPH 79.10
1000' 11.854
1/4 ET 14.113
1/4 MPH 99.98
Fourth and final run:
FINALLY a clean run...got a tiny bit of spin off the line.
60' 2.076
330' 5.872
1/8 ET 9.010
1/8 MPH 79.35
1000' 11.679
1/4 ET 13.931
1/4 MPH 100.50
For all runs I was on the stock 18s with the stock RE040s running 25psi in the rear. I launched from 3500 with a quick slip method. I only got 4 runs in, and I think this car is capable of a very low 2.0xx or very high 1.9xx short time which is pretty damn good for a IRS RWD car. All my shifts are lift throttle (I don't powershift).
I think this car has a 13.7 in it stock...possibly sometime soon...we'll see.

If I do go back anytime soon...it won't be on street tires. I'll either borrow Neal's slicks or put some DRs on my winter 17s.....
I'll be burning up my S-03 rubber on a road course this summer...NOT at the dragstrip
