You'll have a better chance from a roll.

Joe, still, an awd roll will kill me.
If anything, you have the advantage over an AWD car from a roll. AWD has a greater drivetrain loss, due to the fact that there are two drivetrains. FWD has the advantage over RWD from a roll for the same reason, being that FWD has less loss than RWD. If there were two cars with exactly same amount of power to the crank and they raced from a roll, one AWD, one RWD...the RWD would win given equal drivers in a straight line.

The turbo his talking about is most probable a VF-30, thats what comes with the stage 4 kit from turbo XS. I just helped a friend install onw in his WRX. The car ran 13.3's at 107 with the clutch also wearing out. With that trap speed, even from a roll he should take you. The car runs 18psi with pump gas and YES it can run 23-25 psi with Race Gas. You got to remember that AWD take a lot from the engine but 280AWHP IS 280AWHP, thats what the car puts down eventhough at the crank it may have 25% more instead of the 18% us rwd have. His car is faster than my Z from a roll, already tested. Run him anyways because every kit produces different HP on different cars, Ive seen WRX with the same kit run 13.5's at only 102. And YES, only race him from a roll.

Forget all of the nonsense of either a rolling start or a standstill start..It sounds like he is pretty cool just do both and then post the results i dont think he will mind running twice

With 438rwhp I ran a 12.54@118mph in a VERY slippery track. With some tuning and more boost I made 504rwhp. I havent taken the car to the track again.
