i need some hp to help keep up with it. it has 390hp i need at least that.also i what it to weigh less to what do yall thing i can do? and about the 15% less hp at the wheels how can i make that drop to say 8%?thanks

 

be prepared to get clobbered. my fiend has a 2003 svt and it screams. I recommend a 100 shot of NOS (to start). Better yet, tell him you will race him through the twisties. Thats where you will dominate.

The 390 hp is underrated.

You might have a chance in

#1 you go from a dig and you know how to launch better than him.

#2 he misses a shift or just can not drive.

They are fast cars. A little heavy. Also most people are putting down around 360-380 at the rear tires stock. And these things respond great to mods. Ugly but fast cars.

 

You are going to get hammered. I doubt that even with a 125 shot and great rowing skills you could keep up. 150shot and you'd be putting down about the same hp as him. BTW you can't change your drivetrain loss (not significantly anyhow)... that's physics and you can't change physics.

 

Flywheel and UDP's can go a long way though....

I have seen vids of 03 Cobras running 12.6's

Dont not count on that, possibly but not garanteed, the new cobra is reported to handle as well as the M3 and definitly has the power delivery to pull hard out of corners.... independant rear suspension these days no more of this solid rear axle ****

Tell him you want a 5-6 car start and the leave, to make up for the HP difference. Put some $$ on it and I'm sure he'll do it. I gurantee you that he smokes 'em on his launch (and in 2nd) hoping to catch up to you. Hopefully you can drive your *** off, b/c its still gonna be close. Good Luck!

Stick a fork in ya ur done.
He will have to bog really bad off the line or spin his tires, and miss his 1-2 shift and 2-3 shift. Dont underestimate these cars. And yes they do handle well, maybe not as good as the 350z but the cobra has enough power to come hard out of turns and catch up real well.

BTW: stock hes puttin down anywhere between 360-390 rwhp.
