no, but I really want to run one though. Got to see what the fuss is about with their low 13's 1/4mile time. I doubt it though.

One of the guys around my neighborhood got a brand new spankin' yellow one... only has 500 miles on it though... everyone at 7-11 (you guys in queens know what i'm talking about) kept egging him on, but he didn't succumb to the peer pressure Once he puts some more miles on the thing, i'm sure he'll race. I need to practice my launch before I get my *** handed to me by the EVO.

I just watched a Tivo'd Motor Trend TV story yesterday where they did top speed testing on 10 cars, The usual Viper, Ferrari, Z-06, Mosler, SVT Cobra, Murcielago, Jag XK-R,Lightning, AMG 55 CLK etc. and the only unusual car for the group was the EVO. It topped out at 156, (limited, I think), but in their other testing it did 0-60 in 4.59 seconds, and placed solidly in the middle of their handling tests, about 3rd in the slalom and around 3rd in braking. Pretty impressive!

umm...yea...that was Mistubishi's "ringer" car....funny how it ran 13.0@105 with only 271hp in a 3300lb car and NO ONE has been able to reproduce times anywhere near that with a production evo.

100% agree Unless you have major issues with math..none of those numbers add up to a low 13. I have NOT heard of any hitting high 12s stock..I just do see that happening.

Apexi350, there was similar speculation here in Aus when Subaru released the bug eye model WRX STi. Aus motor mags could only run mid 14s.....around 2-3 tenths quicker than the stock WRX. Everyone was asking y would u pay the extra money for the Sti when it wasnt really ne quicker than the cheaper rex.

Subaru claimed they put the wrong oil in the car So they slipped the mag the same test car again, supposedly with new oil, and it ran a 13.4

In the tests months after, the mag used different STi's, production models, and guess what......times slipped back into mid to low 14s.

Very cunning i say!

Oh and i seriously doubt ud crack a 12 in an Evo. Not one off the showroom floor. 12sec passes r reserved for Ferrari's and Porsches with the same weight but twice as much hp.....maths simply dont add up!!!

I have seen one rolling around town here, I don't think its that nice of a car, but I have seen its numbers. I wouldn't want to jack w/ it off the line, but I would still step up to the challenge, from a roll would be different story.

Well i have seen so many cars that looks stock but run time faster then what magazines have done. The reason for this is that it's modded with parts not seen with the naked eye. So when they go run their car, spectators see it and will post up these number not knowing its modded. IE things like a chip or internal. I know so many cars that are like that. For example my friend supra TT, look stock as hell but ran high 12. People say that it's stock but i know that it's not. So they go on the supra forum and post up these numbers. I have seen a evo doing mid to low 13. I ask the guy what he got, he smile and says it stock. Then i overheard him talking to his friend. He said "Stupid *** people think my car is stock!" But by looking at his car it does look stock. I don't know for sure what he got but i know that wasn't stock, especially since they have a few mods for the evo right now that can make it hit 12s for less than 1500.

I think the stock evo can run high 13 but nothing more. My friend have one. and he only beat my brother's rsx by a car length! But maybe he's not driving it right but you tell me what you think from the video. And my brother's rsx best run is 14 flat. I don't drag race my Z that much tho. So the rsx will do!

Well guys got to say that the EVO is a bad *** car. Just got to ride in one this weekend with 5 people in it and it felt quicker than the Z. All five people in the car are regulars on this board and so is the EVO owner, who also owns a 350z.

Agreed I test drove it at Lewisville Mitsu, the sales manager( good buddy of mine) Saturday for the hell of it and that thing felt and is quicker than my 350. It handled great as well!

yeah evo or great car for track and drag but on the freeway you will kill cuz the Z got way better gearing. I race my friend on the freeway, from 3rd gear. Once that gear run out, i pass him up like nothing. But on the track and drag, depend on the driver. But with 1400 buck mod it can do this.
