yes...because it doesn't have a linear powerband like the Z does, the power kicks when the turbos spool so it feels faster than it really is.

 

Thats what I thought I just sold my supra TT, and have had 300zx TT, and they felt like a different kind of fast.

you can get a 3" downpipe for about ~250$ a boost controller for as cheap as 10$ (though anything decent or non home-made for 50-150$) and then you get get small supportive mods like fuel pump/injectors (~150$/300$) intercooler piping (~300$) or whatever. i'd, however, get the downpipe, a mbc, and a bigger turbo (900$)

I just watched that video....that dude with the evo is WAY too cocky for a guy who drives a high 13 second car. He talks like some Z06 owners I know...

 

Hey he's a funny guy but he was just joking we wanted him to say all that. It was just acting for action. We wanted to make a more intresting with the win talk smack at the end. He'll get beat once i get some mod on my Z. Will post that video up once that happen. I can kill him on the high way. If you guy haven't seen it yet. Here is another video of it racing my RSX on the freeway well with my brother driving, he also have passenager with him and a sh*t load of stuff in the back trunk, like jack,two extra size tire, blanket, water cooler w/ hella food and soda . We were heading to Lugna Seca for my friend w/ the evo for a track day event. It was very late almost no car, so we decided to test the rsx. Did expect it to even keep up but we we suprise that it beat us. Also didn't really pland on taping it tho. Took out the carmra kinda late so that why it's kinda blury. I was in the back seat so the video did come out to good. But from this video you will see that the evo has no topend after 3rd gear is gone. It was all over. This is the same guy who was talk mack on the other video i posted up. But remember it was just for fun. If you don't beleave that we were going at around 155 mph freeze when i start to zoom in the tach you will see it almost point at 3o'clock. The car was kinda bumpy after 120. If you don't beleave me go race one on the freeway you will be suprise your self that the Z has way better gearing and will pull on a evo. Well stock vs stock that is. But if the evo have some mod then i don't know.

well its a 5 spd v a 6 spd, the evo is going to have a bit wider gears to cover the speed range. but anyway, the advantage doesnt come from gearing (if it does, its minimal). there's always topics on dsm boards comparing the gsx and gst (exact same specs; gsx is awd gst is fwd). so in one of the threads, they tested them out against eachother stock for stock in a 1/4 and in a highway run from 50-120. the gsx beat the gst in the 1/4 by about .6 of a second, but had a trap speed 3 or 4 mph slower. in the highway run the gst pulled ahead and continued walking it all the way to 120. the advantage from a roll comes from having 2wd (fwd or rwd doesnt make too much of a difference from a roll) but its power traveling through less parts and getting the same power over a smaller area. (meaning more force) to the 2 tires that are on the ground. anyway... yeah... i probably could have said that in fewer words..

 

I have been reading up more on the evo, not too bad of a car, but looking at the thing hurts my eyes, I don't care too much for the body design.
