My first time at the track with the Z.
I was expecting a little better times than I ran.I have a enthusiast with 6spd and 2900 miles bone stock.I ran 6 times with a best of 14.331@100.02 with a 60' of 2.246.Five out of six runs I had wheel hop so bad.I feel really bad for beating on a $30k car!Hopefully I didn't due any damage to my car from all the wheel hop!My clutch does seem to engage further away from the floor than before?I tried to take pics of the time slips but they are not legible.I ran three 14.4's and two 14.3's and a 14.7 with my buddy in the car.
the track is so diifferent than the street. and i mean Physically different. you can run 12.000 on the track, and that can be 13.000 on the street...( give or take of course) and so its all practice. I mean i have an ol' ssc mag who even THEY hit 13.6 in 65 degree weather in a stoc z. and if you notice, sometimes, people want to only run in certain lanes, what does that tell ya'?
its all practice, and its mainly in ur take off, and how fast u can shift, and lil tricks, like pressin the clucth in while in 2nd gr rev it up then pop it and your car will screech a lil more forward.
im sure you can nail the 13.9 with a lil more practice. cuz the z's power should be able to do all the work for you once you get rolling.

Hes right.
Its all about the take off. Test out different launch RPM's and shift points till you find what works for you, or ask other racers what works for them. Get your 60 ft down to 2.0 and you will pull in a 13.9 timeslip.
Overall I say you did a very good job for your first time out in the car.
