and in my case I still haven't lost to an A4 anywhere close to stock....before my friend with an 01 Z28 got headers and only had converter, gears, and suspension I could pull on him from a roll....as sometimes beat him from a stop if he couldn't hook....now since the headers its close from a roll and from a stop i can't keep up.
Haha geez. Saying that is VERY incorrect is a little harsh considering I did say "in the 1/4 mile." Yes I did say faster when what I meant is they run quicker times and yes that is with a converter. I had an 01 Z28 6M that ran 12.69@110 with only Flowmaster and a K&N (with the intake free mod). All of my friends with autos and converters always made me wish I had gotten an A4.

Also, JAMRWS6, I am going to SA to run the IHRA event in my Super Stock car (10.30's@128) and you and whoever else is welcome to come the weekend of July 4th. Or maybe wait for the next NHRA event in Ennis. Either way, it's a lot more fun than fooling around with these street cars. Let me know.

There might be something resembling parity below 60mph. After that the LS1 would decimate the Z. "Buslengths" would definately be the accurate description of the situation.

ive ran some 350z's from 20 - 110...got em by 4 or so cars...

ive raced one at the track...got him off the launch and kept on pulling hard...didnt see how many lengths ive had him by

60 - 100 roll, had them by 1 or so car...

and i have an auto with only 310RWHP...if you are talking about a 02 LS1, he would have around 310-320RWHP stock, which should make somewhat of a difference with the M6(which traps higher)

when you compare a mid-low 14 sec car vs a mid-low 13 sec car, thats around 1 second...you do the math

[i]my old ls1 would break the tires loose (a little) at 70 MPH. my Z has trouble at 25 or 30. [/B]
I don't know how what the problem is but I have absolutely no problem at 40 let alone 25 or 30.

Black Track.

I've chirped the tires going into 4th gear (100mph) when the car was stock ....its pretty easy to get sideways at about 60 downshifting into 2nd and going WOT. ....and thats on 275/40/ZR17 Goodyears

My neighbors Del Sol gets rubber in every gear. Possibly because he only has the weight of a lawnmower over his drive wheels.

Oh I can chirp in every gear (except fifth and sixth - overdrives). But I am not talking about chirping. I am talking about breaking the tires loose enough to wag the tail.

This is a very overlooked point. In general, internet message boards tend to have a lot of BS tossed around. Most of the time it is easy to pick out the BS if you're intelligent enough about the car(s) in question.

I believe about 10 percent of what i read when people compare cars on the internet. Majority of the time they dont have the slightest clue of what they are saying. But its fun to read a post with someone talking about a car you own and you know hes really full of BS Gives me a good laugh But IMO from experience in my Z28 and driving the 350z that i will soon purchase hopefully, The LS1 will dominate.. your also talking about a 5.7 350 V8 vs a 3.5 V6 (not sure about size). And about a 30+ HP difference at the wheels. But both kick *** cars. These cars have been compared way to much with people saying if i put a couple grand into a camaro/firebird it will handle like a 350z...but if you put a couple grand into a 350z it will run like a camaro/firebird ls1. So they really pretty balance when compared to each other. I like the 350z more though.

I would have hoped you would have known your car isn't a 350....its a 346.

Also the HP difference at the wheels is closer to 50+

yeah i know its a 346 but why cant i round up like Chevy does
You think its really 50+ hp difference? I did not think that much but I am no expert either. Either way the 350z handles better than LS1 has more power they are all great cars.

The Z-28 would rape the 350Z. The 350Z does have better aerodynamics (Cd rating of the Camaro Z-28 is 0.33 I believe, and the Cd rating of the 350Z is like ~0.31 I think?), but the horsepower advantage far outweighs that. And the 3.42s in the Camaro SS (or the 2.73s in the Z-28) are both good for high-speed runs.

Actually all 6 speed cars got 3.42s regardless of name.

A4's got 2.73's unless they opted for the optional 3.23's

Just to be picky the Z has a .29 Cd with the "aero kit."
