Z vs. Lightning
Me and my friend went out for a ride in his DB Z, to make a long story short, At a light on the highway black lightning pulls up, revs his engine, light turns green he pulls hard we caught up and he sat door to door with us up to like 120... Dam those things are fast...

IMHO I don't think it was stock, a Z should have no problem running the doors off that thing. I'm not sure but i think it 0-60 is like 6.5 and 1/4 is 14.8 or something around there....I could be wrong but still off the line you should see nothing but oval in your rear view. FORD

Uh... correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the Lightnings did the quarter mile under 14 seconds. Something like 13.5 if you can get traction. I've seen some slightly modded Lightnings at the track do 13.8's with some traction problems at Palmdale. To give you an example of what high alttitude can do to a car, I've seen stock Z28's run 14.8's and Mustang GT's run 15's on that track.

Stock for stock from a dead dig a Lightning should eat a 350Z........from a roll it should be an interesting race.
A friend has a 02 Lightning with a few upgrades running slicks he can knock down consistent 12.3s @ 109 like its no thing. Awesome trucks.

Plus the Z 0-60 and quarter mile times aren't done with a passenger or a full tank of gas, so if the vehicles are pretty close on numbers, you've just shot yourself in the foot performance-wise. I know I feel a big difference when its just me and I get down to about a quarter of a tank or less. For him it won't be as big a deal because 200 lbs of passenger or gas is much less of a percentage weight change in that heavy *** high torque truck than it is in a 3200 lb Z.

From the specs I have seen, The Z has a quicker 0-60, but the Lightning evens it up in the 1/4 mile. They pull really hard after they get off the line.
Of course, throw in a curve or two and watch 'em disappear in the mirror.

1/4 average is a mid 13@103 or so...
Pulley swap and your in the 12's..
Not bad for a 4700lbs truck with shitty aerodynamics....
From a dig the 350Z has no chance....
BTW I have a Ford you can **** on

this is funny....the guys that dont respond or respond..."yeah the lightning is fast"...are guys that have actually been to the strip or have seen cars race and not used magazines to educate them on how quick everyones car is. The others are just stupid and should keep their comments to themselves. $500 and a z will need nitrous to keep up on a roll.

and for the record my friends L that runs low 12s.....i can pull him from a roll so i STILL think a Z would need N2O to run with a correctly driven LS1 car.

I remember seeing a Lightning show up at the Texas Motorplex when they first came out. I was out there with my Camaro.
The guy had paper plates and I talked to him a bit later--he bought the truck that day! Watched him run a 13.5 without breaking a sweat! Needless to say, I was VERY impressed with that truck. It weighs a ton, and has horrible aerodynamics, and they've since upped the boost and changed a few other things.
Only truck that's impressed me more is a twin turbo set up done by Lingenfelter. A Chevy 1500 Z71 that actually ran 12s in the quarter! Now, THAT'S my kind of truck! lol

A current Lightning will outrun the new dodge....
The new 5.4 DOHC S/C'ed Lightning with the supercooler will simply destroy it....
The new Lightning will be very badass
