BJ (Dwnshift) and the 350Z finished 7th in class and 16th overall at the GA Cup race. BJ drove a great race in rainy (flooding) conditions. I followed the race on GA Timing & Scoring and when he got in the car on lap 15 the Z was next to last overall out of 33 cars and around 18th out of 19 GSII cars. He was one of the quickest cars in the class. The race was called because of the 3 hour time limit. Look for the Z team to run in the GT class tomorrow on SPEED around 2 PM Live. Hope the weather improves.......

Why isn't the Z running today? Why do they sometimes run the Rolex races and others just the Grand Am Cup? What happened to the other Z car this weekend?

Probably cause they have a race at Mid-Ohio next weekend and have to get the car ready for their home race. JeffH355 or Mike can answer the reason why their Z wasn't there. I hope they come east for VIR. Should be the perfect track for the Z. Nice job this weekend BJ!

WHEW!!!
That one I am just glad its over!
First of all the crew did a great job this weekend.
Michiel wasnt feeling well this weekend as I think the cold dreary weather got to him and some of the crew. He qualified the car and didnt feel well on Sat at all. He opted to get out of the car on the first caustion. He had a great start and was doing a great job.
The track started off flooded and a caution came about 15 minutes into the race.
Michiel brought it in and we did fuel and driver change.
The car was really working well......for about 10 minutes then the track started drying quickly....Grand AM kept reporting heavy rain was 15 minutes away......my tires wehre badly blistering as I was on rains on a drying track......I made the call to come in and get new tires and it was up to them as to what tires we where putting on. The rear tires had chunked really bad and we where real close to loosing one of them.
John made the call to switch to dries.......we had a great stop but lost a lap.
When we went back out we where one of the fastest cars in glass and making up ground. We ran that whole fuel load and then pitted again going to another set of dries and fuel.....
I left the pits and the rain begain to fall.......
In the end we wehre able to bring her home up to 7th in class.
We had a top 5 car or better......just didnt have "good" luck this weekend.
Next weekend we will be racing at "home"
Mid Ohio............
The other Z's next race i believe is Mosport....I dont know if they will be doing VIR or not.
If anyone is selling good luck.......we are intrested in purschasing a bunch of it!

I went and read the race notes on the GA site and you actually got in on lap 5. Good luck at MO this weekend. Hope the weather is better. Should be a good Z track. Still planning on coming to VIR.
