Default Racing Technique

Hello Everyone,

This is my first post here at the 350z Forums. I will be honest, Im a noobie when it comes to racing. I am a very good driver and feel I have the potential to be a great racer, just not sure on the techniques.

Can you guys please post some tips:

For example:

On a deadstop race:

Take off: Try to get a smooth powerful takoff? Or run it to redline and dump the clutch? Do you want 0 tire spin or just slight spin.

After takeoff:just run it to redline and shift as smoothly and quickly as possible into the next gear? Or shift before redline to hit the next "peak" power band?

Any tips you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Oh yeah and by the way dont pay attention to my username I was just trying to be funny, hope it dosent offend any of you mustang guys. I have love for you all.

Thanks alot for any knowledge you could give me.
