From talking to Carter the DA's made all the difference in the world. The 275's are also a must. I had a chance to drive Pat Salareno's 350z at the D.C. tour and I can tell you on the Stock Shocks it just doesn't have the handling the S does. Carter Got me in Atlanta, and I got him back in Nashville, But it goes without saying, he's one helluva driver.

Now IMHO the 275's give a nice advantage to the Z. Since no one makes a 275 for a 16 inch wheel we are stuck on little tires. But the rumors of the 2004 S2000 coming with wider 17 inch wheels brings us right back to square one.

We welded a 1/2 extension to the front sway bar and it helped allot don't know if it would be enough for auto x but sure is enough for hi speed corners made the car neutral in and a little over steer out. thats if yall can modify the ft bar.

Is it legal to run a shock that lowers the spring seat?
This could lower your center of gravity and keep it legal. If so I might have a line on such an animal.

I believe that the perch, even if adjustable, must be located in the stock position.

Hey Chris, I've got some Kumho Victoracer 275/40/17's if you want to give them a run on your Z for Nationals. I'm running Tuesday/Wed so you can pull them off my rims to use for your 8 runs Thurs/Fri if you'd like. I'd love to see you whip some BS ****, not sure if these would help or not but I've heard this would help tremendously. I live right off I-70 on your way home so even if I'm not there when you finish, you could just drop them off on the way back. Let me know, I'm more than happy to let you use them if so.

Later

interesting proposition craig, I think I would love to do that! I will be there Saturday afternoon, we will have our business setup in Vendors row, Solo Performance Specialties, you'll see the car, come find me! That would be great if we could work this out.

Craig, did you get another set of wheels? Just wondering how you'd get home if I had your tires? Or would we swap for a few days?

Yes, I got another set of wheels for street driving.

I also have a brand spankin new pair of Kumho Victoracer 275/40/17's to replace the rear tires since the were worn down past the tread on the inside indicators, they just came in late this evening. I'm going to put the new pair of tires in the front and the older, still good set, in the rear. I don't have the new tires mounted yet so when I get there tomorrow, I'll have to do some scrambling to get them swapped out. One other concern is that I'm not for sure that I can fit the brand new third set of tires in my friends car on the way down since he'll already be carrying my race wheels/tires. I'm driving back after the warmups tomorrow so either way, I'll get the wheels/tires there by Monday afternoon.

Oh, I took the Stoptech's off so I'm back to BSP.

I'll see you tomorrow.

I placed 4th out of 5 on BSP in the first day warmups, about 1.6 seconds behind the leader. Not sure what happened, I was running about 1.5 second slower than usual compared to 6 or 7 of my division buddies. I did place the new kumho's on the front, maybe that made a bit of difference. Who knows, maybe I just had a real bad day, hopefully!

Carter ran well, I had a decent first run, was 22 or something after first runs, it was still wet. most people got a dry 2nd run, I slipped up on my second, lost the backend, woulda had a 65 clean had I not hosed that. by third runs it was pooring rain again and I don't believe anyone improved.

Damn,
that sucks Chris, 65 would have put you right around a trophy position. I was hoping you guys would get three dry runs. Maybe tomorrow will prove to be a bit better as far as weather. Good luck on the 2nd day.

Carter Drove very well, He's got an unbelieveable amount of talent. I can't believe I talked him into Spray Bombing his Kodiac wheels. $10 paint on $2100 wheels and they look awesome. He's now part of Team BReW hehe of which every member Trophied at nationals. With the Prospect of the S2000 going to A stock with the S2200, My money is on Carter For national Champion next year. I might try to dig up a MR2 Turbo to give him a run, HEHE. Maybe I could even Talk matt into letting me Co-drive carter's old car
