I talked to the manager of the Longhorn this evening. They can no longer block off sections of the parking lot because of land ownership issues or something.

He said he will make a note of a large party of 15-20 on Friday night, and I can call an hour or two ahead of time with specific numbers.

So, if you have any more exact information about who's coming let me know. Otherwise it's looking like 20 people, probably two tables of 10.

I may be able to make some cool videos of the drag racing with a GL1 on Friday night.

Look forward to meeting you guys!

Don’t take this as ungratefulness (please! please!), but others in our group wont be thrilled about longhorn (we have those here). I have heard several times by the elders of the group that Savannah has some great eats. It will be should be ok the first night as we will be tired and what not, but could you think about some unique Savannah restaurants that we could try the following two nights? We need a resident expert.

I think 8 was what we were shooting for! Then off for some late night drag racing at the local track.

Folks,

Sorry about the location. I didn't realize the Longhorn was a chain since I am from New Orleans originally and we don't have it there. If you'd like, there is also a Hibachi grill across the street.

The following two nightsI can definitely recommend some places for y'all to go, and may even be able to tag along depending on how things go.

For you alcoholics ( ), I'd recommend Moon River on Bay Street. It's a microbrewery. Not too shabby. If you're looking to spend real money on dinner, Il Pasticcio on Broughton is probably the nicest restaurant in town. Expect to pay more than $75 per head. Otherwise, there are a large number of restaurants on River Street that have the local flavor you're looking for.

After dinner, make sure you check out city market and congress street -- there are a lot of cool clubs and bars there.

I was made aware that Saturday night some guys wanted to go clubbing, so I'll probably be saving the money on dinner to do that!

Hope this helps a little bit...

Perfect! Like I said Longhorn is fine for Friday night. We need to not take forever anyway.

If you knew us, you know that drinks will be a MUST have! Thanks for the information. I have heard of Moon River and think that would be a great place to go one night.

Cant wait!

Alright, guys! I'm pretty excited I called the dragstrip today and confirmed that Imports vs. Domestics is indeed on! Gates open at 7:30, Races start at 8:00....so we should probably eat pretty fast!

Dinner is for 8:00 at the Longhorn on Abercorn across from the Oglethorpe mall.

When y'all get into town, please call me! I have PM'ed my phone # to some of the members who are coming to town. If I didn't send you a message, PM me and I'll reply with it.

Cheers,
richard

Meant to ask you Richard... you were telling me about two clubs... the one we were planning on going to, what kind of apparel is appropriate? I know a lot of clubs tend to get **** about even jeans.

Button up long sleve, sleves rolled up with jeans...? Think it'd be ok?

I usually wear nice jeans (express or banana republic) and a white button down shirt. You could get in wearing a polo shirt, probably. but jeans are fine, as long as they aren't torn to hell.

Also, if your brakes aren't in let me know and I will contact my buddy (mpower) at the nissan dealer about extras. Slim chance, but worth a shot if you are stuck!

There wouldn't be enough spots! :-PI did get to park directly in front once, right when I got the car in Feb. There were no other Z's in town then, and there was a crowd around my car when I came out of the club, they were all ! That sure made me feel good. Anyhow, there is a paid parking garage in the middle of the thing. If you want the least amount of hassle that's the way to do it.

For the folks who aren't in Savannah right now: everyone got in tonight. Some of us went to the dragstrip, and I gotta tell you:

Mike Edens' car puts hair on your chest! I have some pictures and will post them tomorrow.

Chris (Evil350Z) did most of the driving tonight...we got it down pretty good, but we only had 6 runs and there was a lot of untapped drive potential in the car. Had some problems getting the slicks up to speed....

The local yokels COULD NOT BELIEVE the car! They let us cut the line and take free runs! We tore the crap out of some Rustangs as well...

MORE TO COME!
