I went to school in St. Louis and there are nothing but Mustangs and F-bodies there. At that time I had a 3000GT VR-4 that ran mid to high 12s and I was spanking domestics galore down there. You couldn't believe how hurt those guys looked. Now, for a disclaimer, I have nothing against domestics, but they sure had something against imports! It was fun to ruffle their feathers a bit.

My bro has a '99 Cobra (intake problems fixed) and I'm really not impressed with the car at all. The power is ok, but the car's balance just feels off. The stock suspension feels horribly sloppy and the transmission shifter is anything but precise.

The new Cobras have 100 more hp than a Z! I'm amazed that Ford even bothered to supercharge the Mustang. Why didn't they do that when the F-bodies were destroying them? I guess 2 to 1 sales made them care a bit less...

 

A 2003 Cobra (SC) at the 1/8 th mile track last night was running 8.90's. The Z should run very low 9's in the 1/8 th. I think it is even possible to run high 8.90's in a near stock Z, but after the 1/8 the I the SC'd DOHC V8 will rule.

The thing sounded cool, quiet exhaust, nice SC whine.

I will findout first hand next Tuesday night what the Z will do in the 1/8 th for break-in period will be over.
