i think a lot of that exhaust sound has to do with the cams and not so much the exhaust

I would bet on the nismo + test pipes combo, providing most of the audible bliss...

Dam listened to that clip again, it sounds so sweet...

 

so what caused the drop in power before?

 

I had three things wrong with the car. First I found an intake standoff for the manifold had been sucked into the intake port of the head. It fell off when installing the manifold and was loose. The other problems were bad coil pack and bad crank position sensor.
