I've been working with Hinson for about a week on a "full install" kit...after reading all your posts it sounds like there is still some R&D to work out. Questions....
How is all the electrical working out???? I can work with a few check engine codes, but do all the gauges work properly. Does the guage panel light up like a Christams tree with all the other potential codes. Does the ABS still work? How much, ball park, was required to spend for stuff Hinson doesn't supply??? Sorry for all the questions but, like you said, Hinson can be vague on details.
I have the budget set aside and shop space waiting for one of three options...
Fix my broken VQ with a forged botton end (last choice for me)
LS2 conversion with Hinson
2JZ swap with Tech2motorsports
Thanks- Jim

Expect to get no help from him. Every single dash light is on and I had to unplug my ABS unit because it was locking up on me. I paid 425$ for a "de tune" of the stock ecu and now it doesn't work. His response was "they blow easy" Which is absolute ********. No codes display...when I plug in the tester it says something about not being able to read the ecu. I also paid 300$ for a tach signal adaptor in Jan received a broken one last month and now im waiting for another one to be developed. On top of that I paid 185$ for a GM ECU tune that didn't work and I had to buy HP tuners and correct the problems. Dealing with him was the biggest mistake. For what I paid I could of made everything myself and saved alot of money. The oil pan leaks in 3 places(three of the welds) and fits like garbage...so next year im going to have the oil pan re done by someone that knows how to weld.

Im going to be writing a full review soon..

This was my biggest concern......I don't think this "kit" is ready for release yet. 2JZ is looking better all the time.....but I need to finish my research on it as well. Looking forward to your write-up. Thanks for the info. -Jim

Shitty cell phone pic of the new intake. This stupid intake solved all of my MAF issues. I guess having it that close to the TB really does mess it up.

SnyperZ...Followed your build...Great job and thanks for taking the time to share all of
the good and bad that went with the install.

If I had an LS7..could you please give the basic cost including Trans and all other parts
that would be needed to complete install..minus all the problems you already solved
for anyone interested in doing what you have already completed? It would be a great
help to try and figure the total cost. Don't worry..you won't scare me.

GREAT JOB...American ingenuity at work!!!!!!!!!!

Does the PS cooler go on the high pressure side or the return side?

The mount kit will be up for sale at the end of summer along with the headers and Y pipe. I am going a different route with a different LS2 kit.

by different route your saying.......

Teaser pics of Sikky kit

CNC'd goodies, high capacity front sump oil pan, super low engine placement for excellent CG (see second pic) . Fits better than the vq.

Excellent first post, Sikky. I like the low placement and CNC'd mounts, and it's always good to see a new face in the market. It sounds like the headers and mounts from Hinson weren't really an issue, though. What have you got planned for the electronics side of a LS swap, since that seems to be where Hinson really failed to deliver?

Yeah the quality of my parts are sub par. My oil pan leaks at the weld in about 3 places...thats just one of many MANY issues ive had to work though... This winter im taking the pan off, repairing it the right way and selling it with the mounts. I spoke with Sikky about the kit and the quality is just amazing. I will be running that kit on my 1000hp turbo monster build this winter.
