4.15L NA VQ Engine Build with Rebello and Zcargarge
I wish, but I think if Tony did a FI then it would be a turbo.
Haha, caught red handed. Yeah I've been looking in there for a year or so now. In general, I don't post that much hence my low post count relative to my years active on here. Updates you ask? How much you gonna pay me?? haha. I'll post an updated pic soon enough

I want to see if I am right about the supercharger. Doing deeper research has kinda proved to be alittle surprising. I would have never thought that running a slightly modified setup would exceed vortech's max RPM, just because of my ATI pulley I would be exceeding the max rpm..
Yeah that extra inch on the crank pulley in diameter is huge, but it's kind of a good thing since you can have a bigger jack shaft pulley for the vortech setup which will help with slippage. Good thing about the vortech is that they offer a good variety of pulleys and since it uses a jackshaft system you have an extra two locations to modify your drive ratio to your liking. What are you planning to run with the Vortech?

Later on, a bigger IC, 928 impeller and bearings, 3.13 pulley and I might push the rev limiter out further too.
The "stage 1" I expect over 400hp on the motor setup now, the "stage 2" I expect over 500hp
I think you are close, but not a GTM or HKS, the one I think it is, is actually a really good supercharger if you make it work right for you. I will stop there, haha
Depending on how this turns out, and how it is setup, it may make me decide not to go with the vortech

I would go HKS w GTM's upgrade, but any supercharger for a rev up is rare on this forum, so I'm being patient and saving for something.
There was a V3 Vortech revup for sale, but may be sold.

Classy, you prolly thought i got the Eaton TVS. I wish i could have got it but there is no way that thing can fit in my car and still look normal.
HKS with GTM upgrade is very close. This one also has the planetary traction drive system as well but a much more capable compressor will go on. This unit is like the half brother of a TVS and Vortech.

^ Haha so you were right
It's a Rotrex which is what the HKS series of GT superchargers are modelled after, but this one is much bigger than the 7040 that comes with the old kit.

ya, that was kinda the problem the hks units, they ran out of steam too quickly. I don't know a whole lot about them, but I know they have some good stuff built into them. Did you know the guy who owned Jackson Racing superchargers, sold JR, and was out of the game until he came across this new technology and helped develop and start up Rotrex supercharger? I see a GTM tag on it, so it is already $10,000...
Also, are you sticking with that UR crank pulley or going with an ATI?

I also read that article about JR, but I think he is the one that started to bring them over to the US from europe and made them somewhat popular. Kraftwerks a few years ago was gonna make a kit for our car but don't know what happened. However if they did would be pretty sure that the quality will not nearly be as good as GTM.
Haha GTM = Give Them Money. But in all honesty though, I think it will be worth it and since this is the first for the DE I didn't have much option. It'll be good news for other DE if they are able to make this in production. Will be a good setup for ppl not going for killer top end power. Therere is no jack shaft and it comes with an auto tensioner.
The UR is on there temporarily since that is how i brought the car to them, but the ATI street pulley will go on there eventually.

Maybe I should look into the rotrex superchargers, learn about them alittle bit, haha. I gotta see the benefits and short falls, and do a whole bunch more research.
It looks like it goes basically where the alternator goes, does it relocate it up and off to the side alittle more? I already hate working in that area, haha. I can't wait for the HR cooling system retrofit to begin production so we can eliminate that freaking hard coolant pipe on the passenger side of the engine... (I am basically pre-ordered)
As what happened with my 240sx, I got all overly excited about boost and started looking at options that was more HP than I was actually looking for and eventually calmed myself down to a T04E, haha. Even though I did maps on a GT30...

so, the traction I am assuming is the redline, but looks like it runs out after half way through the RPM, but you should be able to cure this with a bigger unit.
I need to see your numbers and your dyno before I decide not to run a vortech

I think for most people that want a bigger number then the rotrex is probably not the right setup. I am more concerned about mid range so the build of boost lower in the range is more appealing. I think if your goal is to hit 500whp then there is no way for you to be able to do it with this unit unfortunately
500hp is a nice goal, but at the same time, I might be getting ahead of myself. I guess I am more interested in how your power curve looks. I am very eager to see how yours turns out. I unfortunately will have to wait about a year to do mine. Damn finances...
Nice build! Are u still in Korea (sry if u already stated) I just skimmed through most of these 21 pages. I got like 35 days till i leave ROK and get back to my car. Hope all works out well for you!
