The burden of proof is on him, lets see what he can do.

If somebody said at a local Z meet they had a factory freak bolt on car, Id jump in the weakest Z there and then go beat them. I cant do that here so he will prove the point for me lol.

Dyno numbers are "estimates" and vary greatly. Im not bringing ET's into this equation, but TRAP speed is a great indication of WHP. Also many other factors though, but if he goes out and traps 109mph, obviously his dyno estimate is correct.

I thought you were saying "you'd beat them" in ET. Yes i am referring to wanting his trap, not ET. The ET should be somewhat corresponding of course as long as he doesnt stall out at launch, but for our purposes ya ET means nothing here.

I can't comment on the existence of said "factory freak" vehicles but I do know that not all Z's are created equally (speaking about de's at least).

I have 2 close friends who both own Z's (04 and 05) and their cars are much slower than mine (03) so much so that we're convinced their cars are lemons. All have basic I/E mods with factory ecus. From a roll my car will literally pull away in every gear. We plan on putting all our cars on the same dyno to figure out wtf is going on but currently we have no explanation.

Also I don't think my car is a freak by any means but it runs hard for what it is. My exact mods are poop charger, kinetix plenum & resonated test pipes, and borla td exhaust with the rear section removed for more flow. I've also raced my friend with a bone stock nismo 370 and can consistently hang right next to him until about 120 where I start to creep slowly! Again noo explanation.

It also might help that I've had my car since 04 and they've all purchased theirs recently but a monkey can roll race...

This comes down to a lot of variables. What bolt ons do all of the cars have, each bolt on can produce a different result when mated to another bolt on. IE:

Two VQ35DE's
JWT - Motordyne TDX = 255whp
Injen - HKS dual = 240whp

Those are numbers I've seen VQ's dyno. This is just a given example of the motors reacting to different setups. There are other scenarios that I've seen like this:

Two VQ35DE's
JWT - Motordyne XYZ - Agency Power = 265whp
JWT - Motordyne XYZ - HKS single = 252whp

Two similarly modified Z's without tunes running 13hp difference. I understand dyno's can be off, however this was the average of three dyno runs on a consistent basis. My explanation, no two cars are the same. Based on the history of the car and the way it was driven and maintained can mean a world of difference. My '03, which I haven't dynoed yet, with HKS single, custom y-pipe, Kinetix resonated test pipes, and JWT popcharger IMO responded very well to bolt ons. I've pulled on every HR I've raced from a dig here. Driver skill? Maybe, but I'm not Fernando Alonzo lol. From a roll I usually hang until about 4th and they start pulling on me a bit. The whole point to this is that every Z is different, but they're all in the same ballpark +20/-20 whp.

With those mods you should be making 250whp - 265whp

stock 370z nismo is laying down 291whp and lighter than your car. Not to mention he still has stock back pressure which should allow him to absolutly rip your *** open wide over 100mph...

factory freak for sure!

The 370z's also have better gearing.

291whp stock on who's generous dyno?

I'm not sure the 370Z NISMO is lighter than his 03:

370 base curb weight: 3250#
370Z NISMO curb weight: 3300#
2003 350Z base curb weight: 3188#
2003 - 2006 350Z all coupe models: 3188-3347#

Actual weight of my Performance 03 before gutting (wheels and exhaust changed) was 3180#

Yea i figure my car is making 250 whp +/- say 15 lol.

I highly doubt the 370z is lighter than my car, I have a 2003 enthusiast which has a curb weight of something like 3180 to begin with. I also have a plastic plenum, no cats, no rear muffler, and v1 track wheels.

My car did respond really well to mods though, mostly to the test pipes and exhaust. I had a feeling the exhaust could be opened up even more so I removed the rear section of the borla exhaust and had straight pipes put on i also had a magnaflow x pipe welded in at the merge point near the H pipe to reduce drone. There was slight but noticeable loss of low end torque but an even greater noticeable gain in power top end and in the upper rpm ranges.

I don't think it's a freak at all, my pb at the track is 13.6 @ 104 but I've only been twice and was pulling 2.3-2.4 60 ft times. I have trapped higher on slower runs, as high at 107-108 mph with times of 13.8-13.9. Those times seem to be easily achievable by other members on the board with bolt on DE's.

My Z has been on three different dynos and read higher than other stock DE Z's that were doing pulls same day/dyno.

The difference is only ~15hp though, so I don't know if I would call it a "freak"

Of course my HP numbers have been different on every dyno (237-251 HP), but I have had other stock Z's doing pulls at the same time to compare my numbers to.

It's a small amount of power but it's shown up every time I dyno'd.

Dam I can't wait till I get some times on my car! If I run a 12 sec I'll crap myself!

I thought 370z's where much lighter than 350z's. They sure are a lot smaller..

I also thought 370z's where faster than than my car... lol score!!!

I thought the 370z nismos where running 12.9-13.1 1/4 miles... turns out that is not true..

You can drive better than your friends.

I disagree with what you said above, go watch my vids to see me switching cars vs a car I raped, same power. Ive done it numerous times over the years, beaten a guy. had him get down on his car, then I show em that he has to work on there driving not modding.

Everyone thinks they can drive until they see somebody that can, even just in shifting from a roll.

Yea like I said, their driving skills aside I have 5+ years of seat time in the car that they don't.

Yea I know, I don't fully agree with what I said either but my point was when you go from a roll it requires much less skill than other types of racing.

In any case I've been inspired to finally dyno my car after all these years so I should be able to report back with a dyno chart tomorrow evening.

Okay just got back from the dyno, my car made 257 hp and 245 lb/ft torque (Dynojet). A/f ratios were very lean across the board, with a tune I think I can easily break 270 whp.

^257 is well within the realm of average for a bolt-on DE.
