4.15L NA build started
Motor started acting up a while ago, misfiring on random cylinders. Dealership told me buying a new motor would be cheaper than figuring out what was wrong with mine. Whateves. Used the opportunity to convince wife #1 to allow me to buy new parts to rebuild the motor.
After a long hiatus (divorce) I'm able to get the project rolling again. The block is being sleeved, bored, honed, and decked right now, then heading over to the engine builder.
Replaced the rotating assembly with a 4.15L stroker kit 11:1. A little overkill, but racecar. stock heads, 280 cams, and ti-springs. 1/2in spacer, aem CAI (came with the car), PPE long tubes, borla tru dual (also cam with the car, going to cut off the muffler and just clamp on some truck tips for more racecar loud). haltech platinum, JWT clutch/flywheel
um, oil/powersteering coolers, mishimoto rad, solid motor mounts, and that's about it for the motor.
I'm still waiting on injectors because i'm trying to see if i'll have the funds to switch to e85.
Big ol list of ******** right now since all the parts are just sitting in my garage, but hopefully it's not just a pipe dream.
I'm just building a weekend track, something reliable enough for me to beat the **** out of when i want too. I haven't seen many people with my list of parts, i hope that's not a bad thing.
Any suggestions for a more reliable build?
I'm not going to let this government shutdown slow me.

it's torn apart right now, sitting in my garage, i guess i could take pics of my parts pile sitting inside and around it, but all the cool stuff is at the engine builders right now :/
The divorce wasn't too hard to rebound from. I got a large bonus and girlfriend that makes as much as I do, so yeah time to get back into the Z project

I didn't want really high compression because I want the option of SC'ing later on down the road if i want to. I have an mrev lower plenum, and a 1/2in spacer. That's it so far. I originally wanted to get the bling cosworth, but i'm just trying to get it back on the road. I honestly never even thought of the throttle body. Something i should start looking into.
good to leave your options open but (if it were me) focus on a NA build…don't stay on the fence between FI versus NA…if you're ***** enough to build a 4.1l NA than do it, kill it and next round knock out a 3.5liter turbo build…(my 2cents)...
and yes, a pic of all your goods in the garage is a good pic…

Some parts pics added. I think if this motor nuke's then i'll just go the cheap more lame route, and throw an LS motor in there. The amount of money needed for this motor is a bit ridiculous, a good thing about it is that i will separate me from the highschool kids buying z's now. This will be a "once-in-a while" race car so i hope it lasts. I'm hoping with my mods I'll get me over to 325whp. then i want this:
