Default Should I be proud or disappointed in G35 VQ35DE in today's race????

Pretty impressed with Mods in today's race!!!!
I have a 2003 G35 Sedan 6MT with a K&N Typhoon Intake, Kinetix V+ Intake Plenum, 60mm Berk Technology Test Pipes, Megan 2.25-2.50 Y-Pipe & Megan 3in OE-RS Exhaust.... Well today I raced a coworkers 2008 G35S Sedan 6MT with Cold Air Intake & Top Speed Exhaust, keep In mind he has a HR Motor... So we ran from a dead stop 2x and from a 15MPH Roll 2x, I won 1 of each race, however he started to pull on me from 90MPH+....... But I had a Half car on him Thru 3rd, I think this is pretty good for the mods I have vs. the mods he has plus a HR Motor.....

Does this sound right or should I have beaten him with ease or should have gotten smoked????

Thanks

I posted this in the NA Build because I plan on getting PPE LTH next month and just sent me Heads out for P&P with JWT Cams(still debating on which ones), with a tune, of course, and 4.08 Final Drive.... I want to use this car for Road Course and occasional Drag racing......

Any input would be helpful.. Am I on the right track or not really??

Thanks in advance guys!!

NOTE TO ALL: this race was done a piece of land my family owns and is closed off to the public and it is a concrete straight road of concrete...... Just so y'all KNOW I am not doing this on public roads.....

most importantly, you need a tune. tune will do more than any bolt on you have added.

I have heard that a time or two.... Lol. I will get a full tune when I have the LTH, Heads/cams installed...... I have seen the tune is amazing with these cars and you can get a lot of HP/TQ when the right intake and exhaust are there... Thanks for the in of Sir.

Drivers race at those speeds, even from a roll.

He should have beaten you, but he didnt, because he shifts like he has palsy.

ME=DErevup, HFC, Motordyne single, MREV2 plenum and spacer, Dynosty UPrev tune.
Him=370Z, intake, exhaust. No tune.

It sounds like a great start, but if you want a roadcourse car , start hitting the track and worry about power way down the road. Just hit the track, keep hitting the track , then spend more money on seat time to hit the track. Build the car as needed. Way to many people wait and wait, need more parts before they play, need another part bla bla bla, hit the track and have fun.
