Driving school and/or track time will yield more net gains than ANY bolt on dollar for dollar.

But I'm just using this as an excuse for meeting my "driver improvement" comment quota.

No one believes me though. Laff.

I'm thinking of doing a couple of autocrosses this summer just to get to know the car better in a safe(ish) environment. Worked well for me when I had my Legacy.

Good on ya. I'll be the first one to admit that I could definitely use a LOT of cone time. Never been as good on a cone course as on a road course. Not sure why... Sharper corners, less set up/anticipation time? Dunno.

All I know is I'm way more at home setting up for the Corkscrew than for a directional rubber cone.

Maybe I'll invest some time this year to make myself whole. Several AX guys have offered their help! Hmmm, Where's that event calendar at? Hahaha!

Problem with cones is that the gap throughs off your depth perception. Well for me anyways. And speeding through cones just seems off rather than being on an actual track

Could be true. Gotta tell ya....I have mad respect for the cone racers. (Well, all racers but maybe cuz I don't have the flat course skills I'd want, admire those that do AX well.)

Other one I find pretty astonishing is the car control exhibited by the drifters. Oh, I spent a lot of my youth in parking brake sideways power slides but never to the level of control exhibited by Forsberg, Yoshihara et al.

I agree with every car/tuner/dyno being different but it possible to gain some good numbers.

A couple months back I took my car just to get some dyno pulls to see were I'm standing and my car managed to hit 269hp & 250tq UNTUNED on a mustang dyno. Mine is just a 04 DE with full bolt ons.
