Yo, are you from Brighton, Michigan? If so, you'll be seeing your share of snow so the VDC is something to consider. As for the TC limiting the abilities of the car...you can turn it off if you really want to, but it's a really good CYA...just like the VDC.

I just recently went through the same decision. I ended up getting the base. The only other feature that I really WANTED was the HID's. Needless to say, I couldn't justify spending an additional 2 grand for those, even more so when you can get aftermarket kits for much cheaper.

Granted, LSD would have been nice as well, it wasn't a necessity. Push came to shove and I took the base.

Oh, and they had the base in stock in the color I wanted, so that helped.

And how many times have people posted that is has saved them on the road on a snowy or rainy day?

^go there and compare the different models for yourself, to see which you need. For people like me who drive 5AT, I obviously don`t need VDC, TCS is more than enough. Keep in mind this is a guy who wants to buy a base model, so I doubt he wants to pay 4k more for a performance. Do your homework.[
Dude, check out Consumer Reports and the VDC which is the wave of the future and a valuable safety feature and where do you get $4000.00 more for the Performance, no way. Check Edmunds.com for pricing differences. How much is your safety worth?]

Yup. Quite a few actually.

My Z will be my daily drivers Spring-Fall, so she will see plenty of rain. No snow though.
