Default *newbie*

Hey whattup everyone. New here to the forums, and new to Z's. Just got my Z two days ago. Touring/6mt/nav. I love it. I like it a lot more than my friends G. Before this I had a 240... and before that I was heavy into hondas. Had four different ones. Anyways.. I just had a couple of newbie questions, and wanted to introduce myself to the board. So yeah.. HI!

My first question is... what's the proper rpm to set the shift light... and since for some reason I didn't get my owners manual, (picking it up tomorrow morning), can you open the trunk from inside the cabin, or is it only possible from the remote? Haha.. I feel like an idiot. Lastly.. what are some common bpu's for the Z? Just lookin for some extra *UMPH* before I get around to force inducing the bish. Welp.. thanks in advanced for any help or advice. I'm looking foward to the feedback.

shift light depends on where you want to shift, before redline, at redline etc. test it out for yourself, i have mine set to 7000, because it starts blinking a couiple hundred before where you set it., As for opening the trunk, theres a button above the license plate in the rear. just gotta feel for it.

Do not go over 4K RPM, as per the manual for break-in procedures! I would set the Rev Limiter at 4K RPM until 1200 miles! Enjoy your new Z, what color? Post Pics! day and night. Want some night time shots of the new Xenon and Tailights!

yeah i have been trying to keep it below 4500 but as you know its hard to not get on it but for most part i have been driving highway so it makes it easier to put it on cruise.

i would take pics but weather is rainy today, but as you can tell mine is daytona blue and with the 06 rims its sexy, i need to get a mirror window tint so i can put my dvd/7in screen/xm/nav in. its sitting in my room from being pulled out of my old car

Default Congratulations and welcome.

what's the proper rpm to set the shift light...

About 3,500 RPM will be fine.

Lastly.. what are some common bpu's for the Z?

What does “bpu” mean?

Thanks for all the replies. The car is already broken in. Sorry I didn't specify.. its an 04 Z. I'm only 21 and still going to school, can't afford a 40k + car brand new =T. haha.

As for what "BPU" means.. is Basic Parts Upgrade (intakes, exhaust, etc...) Mainly just bolt on stuff.

I only have one crappy pic from my phone, so here it is... Thanks again for the replies.
