Default hi-rev motor

Hello! I am the newest noob here What is a hi-rev motor and does the 05 model have it? I am debating on wheather the 1,500 dollar difference is worth getting the 06. Thanks in advance...

Rev-up engine is the 300hp motor that has more horses (less torque) than the standard 287 engine...also thicker rods, pistons, and crankshaft...think they changed the plenum bottom end..something about intake exhaust variable valve timing, you should search it ;P It was considered an upgrade because it came with the higher dollar Track and Anniversary models prior to 06. All 2006 Zs have this engine standard now if its a manual transmission.

It's not some major performance jump. The engine differences are minor if thats the only thing you're looking at when comparing newer and older Zs.

and it supposedly responds better to mods. And the TQ curve is flatter giving more usable TQ at a lower rpm.

Thanks for the good info guys. I noticed the 06 model has a slightly different front end and also has LED tails which look hot. I may as well just go with the 06 if I am getting a new car anyway. I'll be getting rid of my GTI 337 which is a fun car, but does not have the HP I want. Plus I am sooo tired of the front wheel drive action. I test drove an 06 Z last weekend for like 5 minutes and that's all it took. I already know what wheels I want. Anyone have pics of a Z with 18 inch MB Drifters by chance?

I went from a 2000 Civic Si-->GTI 337-->03 Nissan Frontier-->04 Evolution 8-->06 350Z and I think the Z is the most fun to drive out of all of those. My modded Evo was definately ball's out fast though
