Is this a fair price?
Hi all,
I'm about to buy an 06 from Perf. Nissan.
Cool thing about this car is that they built it out with a bunch of Nismo parts.
My question is simple...
Is the car worth the offered purchace price?
here is what I get with the car, some of ity is already installed:
PART INSTALLED
1. Nismo S tune suspension yes
2. Nismo Catback exaust yes
3. Nismo rims yes
4. Nismo titanum shift **** yes
5. Nismo oil cap yes
6. Nismo Radiator cap yes
7. Bridgestone tires yes
8. Nismo LSD no
9. Mrev Plemum no
The parts come to roughly 6750.00
I figure 1080.00 (12hrsx90.00) for the installs
and the sticker for the base model they are put on is 28,000
that's
28,000.00
6750.00
1080.00
-----------
35,830.00
2,955.00 tax
-----------
38,785.00 TOTAL
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO,
final OTD offer from them is 37,000
there are the numbers...
Is this a good offer?

Personally I'd prefer to have the parts added after I buy the car from someone other than the dealer. You have to remember that now you will be financing mods on your car, which will end up costing you more in the long run..
Half of those things you just listed require minimal work You can add shiftnobs, oil caps, radiator caps yourself in 10 minutes.
Everything in there is a simple job and could probably be finished in 3 hours and that's only b/c the suspension needs to be ripped out.
Just my .01

I'm putting 25 down and financing the rest...I'd rather have all the parts on one bill....even if it costs me 5% in charges.
besides the financing, i just wanna know if this is a good price for a car built out like this? I feel like it's a "FAIR" price but by no means a great deal.

I am shopping for a Z myself, so I'm anxious to hear some other replys.
OH YEA,
one more thing.
I didn't figure in the sell price of the parts they removed in order to put on the nismo mods
that would be:
1. OEM rims
2. OEM tires
3. OEM suspension
4. OEM exaust
5. OEM shift ****
I don't know if this stuff holds any value in the used parts world...any info would be great...they claim all of it is gone...should I ask to see this reflected in the sale price, or would that be lame *** petty BS on my part?

I agree though, I would normaly not pay that kind of money for caps & *****. The problem is, the car is already built. I cant' just ask them to take them off and reduce the total bill by 200.00. Besides, if i disregarded the caps and ***** the $$$ bottom line wouldn't change that much anyway, so I guess you could also see it as they threw those in.
anyway, I'm not here to debate the price vs value of the added equipment.
That is a matter of preference.
I just want to know if this is a good deal or not.

so they did cut 2 k off the sticker...I'm conffused...how much should a dealer make of one of these sales
Um, for what you are doing, I would take the money and spend it on something else. For that much money, you can go FI, or at the least, get some better aftermarket parts. If it is an 06, you can get some good money for the wheels, and I assume the dealership is not giving you anything for them.

Hey brick, how do you figure that?
better suspension, exaust, differential and wheels = base model????
come on man...tell me why you think that it's a base model?
+1. Only nismo thing i'd buy is the sticker. All their GOOD stuff is he internal engine stuff which is uber expensive. Their exhaust, intake, suspension is minimal at best at performing and is super expensive. Just get a enthusiest or track model and save up for mods. In the long run u'll save a lot more and have a better performing car.
"tell me why you think that it's a base model? "
Well, your first post says it is. Then your adding a buch of fu-fa. No substance.
I'd go for an Enthuasiast & add on from there.

sorry everyone...my post was misleading...I am getting both the plenum and LSD but they will not be installed at purchase....all other items are already installed.....
Anyway, after this thread I have decided to reconsider....my only worrie is that I'll buy a touring or Grand touring and then never do any real sugnificant mods to it. I don't see myself shelling out 1500.00 plus install while i have monthly payments..on top of that, I'm not sure i want to mod out a top end model of this car.
that was my original delema...should i go top end and keep it mint for resale or go base and build it up with performance parts...
well, when I went to perf nissan to ask about parts they showed me their show car and said it was for sale....so, I thought after reading all the good things (on this site) about the nismo suspension and exaust I felt is might be a good idea to grab the car with it allready installed.
but alas..after doing the numbers and reading your posts, I feel its time to look at the top end....Only problem is, they have very few silverstone coupes left...at least that's what the dlr says.
Personally, I think you are paying too much. Try this idea. Go to a bank(preferably the bank you do businees with, or credit union even better) and get your own financing approval for lets say $38,000. (With probably a better interest rate) Then go and purchase the same color Enthusaist 350Z (you should pay around $27,500 for the enthusiast and a few options, thats not the best price but thats fair). Now pay in full for the car with the approved loan the Dealer will issue you a check and now go buy all the aftermarket stuff you want. I agree with some of the others, in that Nismo makes SOME nice stuff, but there are a ton of aftermarket companies that make better parts for cheaper. Thats what I did. I purchased an 03 Z Enthusiast new and have extremely modded it since. I think its the best way to go without wasting money on unecessary option you're gonna never use or take off anyway. Not to metion you can build something better than the premium for less money.
