Default New owner of a roadster w question

Hey guys, just bought an 05 touring roadster over the weekend w/ only 3990 miles on it and I think I got a really good deal out of it. Anyway, since this my first convertible ever, my question is in regard to the soft top operation. Typically, how often do you open and close it on a daily basis? Should I ALWAYS leave my top on during parking? I don't know, I'm such a noob about convertible.

that is depend on how safe at your area. I have my top open all the time when i park my car. I open at least twice a day since it is my daily drive.

I open and close it at least 3-4x a day, is that too much? I mean, it's still under warranty though,

Just make sure the car is running when you open and close. That top eats a lot of battery juice.

Also its best to leave the top up overnight, top will stay wrinkled if left down for a prolonged period of time.

Enjoy it, can't put mine down, too cold here,

My favorite part of the car,

Well, if you can't wait until spring time, then move to houston, buddy. It's perfect weather for convertibles, except for today, maybe. Also, getting a good tan while driving, nothing can beat that.

Grew up near Corpus Christi, if I moved back to Tx, it would be there,

hey you're from Houston too? Congrats on your new ride!

I rarely leave the top down unless it's a in a safe area and I wont be long...

You should open/close as often as u want...its under warrantee and yuou should enjoy it.

What part of town you stay in?

Thanks. Pic was not super-imposed..it was taken last week at the Track in Baytown. It's a 2005.

Any plans on modding your car?

not anytime soon, bro. Still trying to come up with how I'm going to make my first payment, lol. What 'bout you?

By the way, I just can't believe how awesome that pic looks. The clarity is amazing, especially taken after the sundown.

You mean the top goes up??

j/k I put it up and down as often as I like. Some times I leave it up and sometimes down. Enjoy it. I don't want to scare you but a few of us have had defective seam on the passenger rear corner. Keep a close watch on it during the warranty. If you need more info on that try the search on this forum.

CongaZ and welcome in it’s an awesome car!

Default Drop Top any time

Congrats on your convertible. I live in the Atlanta area and really enjoy the top down in the Spring/Fall and on the Summer evenings. When the sun is beating down in July and you're sitting at a red light in the middle of the city it gets pretty hot in the driver's seat. Bring along a ball cap or other hat and some sun screen for the hot months.... enjoy.
