Finally!!
I don't know if I could wait!. I bought my Z last Thursday and I picked up my Z on Saturday, those 3 days were the longest days of my life.. ha ha! . Have you considered telling the dealer that you'll go and pick it up, if they pay you for bringing the car? A day worth of pay ($150-$200). Just tell them that it would be as if they were paying their driver, and on top they'll be making their money faster!!! (also keep in mind that the Dealer makes money on every sale, so worst case, they're just making $200 less on you) This may work for you, and I bet you wont regret driving the Z on a highway!!! Just make sure that you take a look at the "Brake In" instructions on the manual. Either way, Congratulations on your Car!
One of the main reasons for deciding to wait is that this car will be my daily driver, and I dont feel like driving a brand new car (without the proper tires) in the snow. I have money saved up already for new wheels and tires for next winter. So, I "should" have this car by the end of May. Hopefully things work out and I can manage to get it a little sooner.

They didnt have the car I wanted on the lot, and I didnt want the car for a few months anyways (snow), so I had them place my order for a 2006 Daytona Blue Enthusiest 6MT. I was able to take out an Interlagos Fire 6MT that they had on the lot. It was a fun time driving a manual transmission for the first "real" time. I was a little nervous driving the car (I have driven the 5AT a few times before) plus having the sales person in the car with me didnt help much either. The exit from the dealership just happened to be on a nice incline which didnt help matters. I stalled it
.
I didnt have any problems after that, except for keeping it under the speed limit. A few times I glanced down, I noticed that I was going 65 in a 35. Thank goodness for the digital speedo, I didnt even use the analog one. The only other problem that I had was getting into 2nd. The dealer told me that I was letting off the cluth too fast which was causing the jerky shifts. I guess that will all come with practice. This car is an absolute blast to drive. The car has power in any gear. I loved cruising down the windy roads and just hearing the engine purr. I did see on one turn the 'SLIP' light came on. I didnt feel any of the tires break traction and I wasnt taking it that fast. Not sure what that was caused from.
I was very glad to get the car for the price I was hoping for. Great dealers to work with. If anyone from the Pittsburgh area is looking, check out West Hills Nissan. Now the real fun begins...waiting 60-90 days
I cannot wait for this car to get here!! It truely is bliss on wheels.
Oh, and Davidv, I know I know...it doesnt count until the keys are in my hands
But they are coming!!!

I found I had the same problem, going faster than i thought I was. Speedo said 85 and felt like it was closer to 60. I too find that I use the little digital speedo on the mini computer thing, rather than use the analog one.
I though that maybe the speedo was exagerating my actual speed like they do on sportbikes but I confirmed it was correct, at least within 1mph at 35 mph by at least 3 different "your speed is" radar gizmo's
UPDATE: I just heard back from the dealer, and the car might be in next thursday!! He said the computer is showing him a date of 3/30, and all of his reports say the week of 3/30. He said they wont know for sure until the car actually arrives at the dealership. I cant wait!!!
I just spoke with the dealer and got the VIN number...it should be here by the end of next week. This is soo much better than waiting another couple weeks. I just hope the weather starts getting better around here.
Well, this car is awesome!! I got all the shifts down smooth. The only thing that I need to work on is getting going from a stop. Tomorrow, I'm going to find me a nice parking lot, and PRACTICE!! Oh, and the new bi-xenon headlights are amazing. I cannot believe the amount of light the high beams put out. This car is definitly worth every penny.
