That V6 put a smile on my face every time I punched it while merging on the highway. The Max never gave me problems...ever. Fantastic, low-maintenance car.
I don't know why...but I really miss that car. My wife and I went on our first date in it less than two years ago. I babied that car since I day I got it.
Oh well...I guess it's time to make new memories with a new car. Just felt like posting.

Good for you, finally buying a Z.....
but I dunno about that CAI man, people are showing long tube intakes lose power
get used to the car before you put mods on it.

A fellow ex-Max owner. Sweet! What gen Max did you have? Were you on maxima.org forums as well?Yeah...I did a lot of research on intakes and saw that short-rams ala JWT PC clearly have a slight edge on the dyno. Plus cleaning them is simple. But CAIs have that deeper growl. That, and the 3yr/36k warranty brought me to the Nismo.

Dealer has setup a tentative install appointment with the service dept for Thursday, but if it is on the last truck for the day, i'll have to wait 'til EOB Friday to take delivery. Then tint on Saturday and on Monday, it's off to the bodyshop for kit install.'Before' pics will be on here the day I get the car. 'After' pics by end of the following week.

SHE'S HERE!!!
The Z got here a full 3 days early! May 8th instead of 11th! My wife and I went to the dealer today to do the financing paperwork so that we won't have to do it on the day we take delivery. Had an appointment with our salesman. Met him in his office. The conversation that ensued was as follows:
Me: Hey Greg! I was expecting a beautiful Redline Z to be parked outside! (chuckling...expecting a quick-witted response from him)
Wife: Yeah Greg, we thought we'll drive home in a Z (all smiles).
Greg: Well I guess then I won't tell you that the Z arrived this morning!
Me and wife:
What?
Greg (all chuckles): Yup! It's parked in the back. But the Nismo parts won't be here until Wednesday, so I thought I'll tell you after they're installed.
We ran with him to check out the car. Our jaws hit the ground. We knew we HAD to bring it home with us. Needless to say, our quick 20 min stop turned into a 2 hour one. Got everything taken care of, and finally brought the beauty home at 9pm.
I called our fellow member bamyi on the way and was giddy as a school girl while telling him about our unexpected arrival. Yessssssss! My dream car is parked downstairs in the garage.
Funny thing; the rev shift point was set at 2100 from the factory! I had to drive 57mph in a 75 zone all the way home! It was raining and I was quite nervous since I do NOT have it on my insurance yet! Will do so first thing in the morning. Not driving her to work.
I have spent the past few hours grinning from ear to ear! Wow! It is here. Funny as it is to say, but I keep thinking that I am in a dream and will wake up any second. I can't express my feeling...can't do it.
Dealer offered a great deal on a state-of-the-art GPS based vehicle location, monitoring, and immobilization unit, so I took it. Will allow me to monitor my Z 24/7 on the web including exact location, speed, and path for preceding 24 hours. One click and the engine would be dead. Installers will come to my home and install it this weekend. No need for a Clifford now!
Now for the fun part, PICS! Pardon the images...had to make do with garage's+flash lighting. And yes, as per my instructions, they did not even touch the Z's exterior. Left the protective film as is, and didn't even touch the glass. Thank goodness!
David, I took this first pic just for you. My hands. Z's keys. Now where's my freakin' congrats?

Here's an interesting one. So that's how they make sure the cars get on the right boat
This sticker is from the assembly line. Says Nissan in silver letters on the right.

I have to be at work early tomorrow...7:30am. But I can't sleep! This adrenaline is insane!
Since the arrival was so surprisingly pre-empted, none of my stuff is here yet. Courtesy stuff is coming tomorrow as are all the detailing supplies (two different vendors). Toyo Proxes T1Rs are coming on Wednesday. Body kit components should all be here by Friday (3 different vendors...3 different delivery dates).
"AFTER" pics by end of next week; tint, tires, interior, and body upgrades.
P.S: Can I just say that these '06 bi-xenon HIDs are incredible? My eyes popped out when I first flicked them on. The highbeams are even more incredible!

Damn emotional group we are!! I'm all swelled up inside and tearing outa joy
You guys are hysterical!!
usmanasif, can you tell more about the GPS/monitoring system you bought?
I'm also a three-weeks new owner of a beautiful Redline Touring Roadster, charcoal leather interior. I've already put more than 1600 miles on it, driving from No. Va. down to North Carolina's beautiful beaches at the Outer Banks, touring that area, and then back again. What a great, fun car this is to drive.
By the way, I'm a woman, and a wife, and the Z was "my" idea. Surprised my husband no end when I showed up with it to pick him up from work that day in mid-April. He's now the sole driver of our six-year-old Maxima. We're both happy!

Hi all! Those have been some awesome responses. Thanks a bunch! You're all so great. I have been kinda hosed at work so didn't get a chance to chime in earlier. I am in a bit of a rush right now so excuse my typos!
Here's the latest: Tint, Toyos, Nismo exhaust, and Nismo CAI have all been added! Until yesterday, Z was a complete garage queen. Tint was on Tuesday and the other three yesterday. The Nismo combo is killer! It sounds soooooooo good I couldn't believe it. And that is even though I am keeping it below 4K RPM...can't wait to hear it at redline proximity! And the Toyos...oh boy. With the GTc staggered wheels with their awesome offset, the rears are at the very edge of the fender. They look incredible from behind/side! No VDC issues (my exhaustive calculations worked!) and no rubbing either.
On Wednesday evening, I did a 5 hour detail after removing all the plastic and finally started properly driving the Z after picking up from dealership after Nismo/Toyo install yesterday afternoon.
Morningglorie, congrats on your purchase! The GPS tracking system I am getting (guy called to set up the appointment just today, actually) is called Mobile Guardian. It is kinda steep in price, $800, but nothing beats it for overall value and features. It covers the entire US except for Area 51. You can locate the car anytime for any reason. If it is due to theft, you can disable the car online. It will email/text message/page you the moment your car is started without your permission or if it is driven above your pre-set speed limit (teen control). The GPS unit updates the car's location every few seconds so even if the car is stolen and is stored in a garage, the locator will bring you right to the location's door.
The thing that sold me on MG was that it requires no monthly fees and can be used anytime, not just for theft recovery. E.g. If I drop it off at a shop, I would like knowing whether they went for a joyride and if so, where and how fast. www.mymobileguardian.com is their site.
All, my spoiler and rear lip are here, and the sides are arriving tomorrow, so on Monday, the Z will go to the bodyshop for 2 days. Will post pics by Thursday!
Thanks again for your continuing comments! I will continue to chime in.
P.S: No exaggeration, but in just two days since I really started driving the car, I have gotten almost a dozen DETAILED compliments from total strangers including several from two little kids (6-8 yo maybe) riding their bikes in our neighborhood last evening who surrounded the car and kept asking about it. One said it is "waaaaaaaay cooler" than his mom's S2000

So this is where your pics are! And here I am, starting a post just for you in the CO section.
Very nice optioned car. Just get rid of the "Elway" sticker and stick on the ones I gave you.
