April 26th was my birthday and I got the best present of all. Dealer told me that my Z has arrived at the LA port and will reach Denver on May 11th!!! The moment he said that, I felt something that could only be second to a soon-to-be-dad's reaction when being informed of his baby's delivery date. It is incredible!
I reacted by ordering my Nismo parts and setting up a window tint appointment. Detail supplies, tires, and body kit will be ordered in the next few days.
I am just too excited to stay still. My longtime dream car...built to my specs...is less than two weeks away...Boy o' boy!

Thank you, thank you very much. I'll be here all week.
So David, I take it, I can finally expect a "congratulations" from you come May 12th? You know, keys in the hand and all

BTW I lived in Denver for 2 years. The mountains west of the city, as you know, are incredible for 350Z driving. I am envious.

You bet! This is the quintessential sports-car-driving heaven. Local members are heading to Cripple Creek tomorrow morning and another drive is scheduled for May 13th. My wife and I have been planning Rockies day trips of our own for every weekend this summer including one on the infamous Trail Ridge Road. All this has made the long wait that much longer...

I don't even know what that's like. My current car, a Maxima, is 14 years old! The only other car I ever owned was an 8 yr old Civic sedan. Being a poor college and then grad student sucks. But then again, that's what's made owning my dream car possible. The Z isn't just a step up for me, it is akin to jumping from earth to the moon in one leap.
I will love and care for this car to death. I am that insane.

I well remember your hunt for the Z just a few months ago. And yes, pix will be on here the moment I pick up the Z...covered in white protective film and all!EDIT: As a second thought, the pics will likely be somewhat delayed. After all, I will have to actually step "out" of the car to take the pix and then stay away from it long enough to post them here. That just may not be possible for the first 72 hours

Yes I did. But the dealer sent the order through on Feb 3 as that was when NNA opened their system for February orders (usually a 4-5 day window beginning of each month). Did you get a printed copy of your order after being submitted by your dealership's computer? If not, ask them to give it to you. It will show the expected assembly date as well as ETA (usually a vague range) assigned to your car.
The most important thing to keep in mind is, the 90-100 day countdown doesn't start when you order it from the dealer. It starts only when the dealer places that order with NNA.
Usually 6-8 weeks after ordering, the system assigns a VIN to your car. That means that the car will be assembled within 48 hours. Once that happens, you can expect it to arrive at the dealer within about 4-5 weeks or so. The dealer should call and tell you as soon as the automatic VIN assignment takes place (mine was on 04/03) and system generates an automatic final invoice for your car, listing a more specific ETA.

I pick it up on Monday at noon. When I got the call today at 6pm I at work, I wasnt really busy so I had to go see it.
I love that with my RN job I can just go where ever I want and do what I want when I am working, just have to carry a cell phone to answer calls if i get any. Even covered with all the plastic still the car is beautiful. I got a 06 Touring silverstone 6 speed with navi and side airbags.

A bitter-sweet moment an hour ago. I sold my Maxima. Just 6 hours after posting it on Craigs List, a gentleman bought it for his 16 yr old son to serve as his first car. The kid was jumping out of his skin when he sat in it. Ah...the joy of the first car.
That V6 put a smile on my face every time I punched it while merging on the highway. The Max never gave me problems...ever. Fantastic, low-maintenance car.
I don't know why...but I really miss that car. My wife and I went on our first date in it less than two years ago. I babied that car since I day I got it.
Oh well...I guess it's time to make new memories with a new car. Just felt like posting.

Thanks. I was surprised myself. My ad didn't even have pics in it by then. I had gone to wash and detail the car so I could take and add pics to my posting later. Just as I got done, the guy and his son showed up, drove the Maxima for 5 minutes, and said they'll take it.
You're down to just a few days left. Your new lady will be ready just in time for the weekend assuming she's on time and the dealer install the options asap. Looking forward to some pix of the redhead!
