I paid $25500 for my 350z Base 2 months ago. And got $1000 over KBB on my trade in. Keep looking around. I did a lot of research online. I love my 350z, I'm just careful when it rains since it doesn't have LSD. Good luck! Shop around for your financing also, I was able to get 5.5% interest for 7 years with a credit union around here.

Good luck.

EDIT: I forgot, I didn't know that they can sell cars under unvoice but they did. They have something call " Hold Back" Is some kind of money that they get from Nissan. If you are not satisfied with their offer, just walk out. I bet they will be calling you in a couple of days.

Do the base models still not have HID's? I know in 04 they did not.

However when you keep moving forward through the options it adds a destination charge of $605 bringing the total to $26,465. Which number is what the dealer paid??

Do you think asking for $26k + TTL would be the right amount?
What about asking them to throw in something like the Aero kit? (says it costs $400-$500) but im sure they get it for less.

Thanks again for all the feedback.

Scott
At minimum, you should get invoice. I think there is room to negate some of the freight, maybe another $300-$600. For giggles, try this link and request Internet pricing on the three base models available. It's Maryland, but should give you a sense of what other regions are charging.

Definitely shop financing. I got 5.6% 5yrs thru Costco Auto Program. It basically was a blank bank check for the amount that they deem you can afford. Now don't spend to the max but it covers options, accessories, TTL. You do not need to down or trade per bank terms. Just figure out what kind of payment you can live with.

Hold back has been around for a long time and seldom understood. It varies from each manufacturer but is usually 2-3% of a car invoice or MSRP. For Nissan, it is 2 of total invoice. Read the linked info below.

Thanks!

I need to e-mail him back tonight. Do you think asking for $25,800 would be right? This is the first place in Houston to quote me under $27k for this car! So when they said $26,400 it didnt seem too bad.....If they will do $25,800 that will put me out the door around $27,600....Not too bad!! Also, have most of you purcahsed your cars at the end of a month as a negotiating power?

How much does it cost them to add the Aero Kit? Maybe if I cant get them to go any lower on the price I can get them to throw that in or something else......

Also, I seriously wish I had the LSD that the enthusiast has....Not really a huge deal with the Aduio/cruise controls on the wheel.......but the LSD would make a difference....But not for $1500!! The headlights are the same on the base and enthusiast??

Thank again for all the help!

Certainly ask for that price and don't be afraid to expand your search beyond Houston to force competitive pricing. You may want to buy from this particular dealer but don't let them think it's a done deal. They will not negotiate if you have no other choices. I was looking at deals across five states even though I wanted to buy within Maryland.

Large ticket accessories are hard to bundle in; too much money there. Dealer will love the installation dollars. I tried to get a deal for NISMO parts. The best was 5% on parts and labor, basically the sales tax in Maryland. You should try buying parts online for the discount. Try these links

Nissan dealer in Richardson

JDM parts shipping to US

If you want the LSD and TCS on the Enthusiast, just do it. I know it's a stretch but better than remorse of not having it.

I am putting mods off until I recovery from the purchase. Also want to wait for 06 NISMO parts, Aero Kit v2, etc. Going for JDM parts is just too expensive for me. Gotta consider the cost of installation also.

Check out Aero Kit v2 - SWEET!

Bill, Thanks for the info.....

What model do you have?

I think the base is what I will get...Price wise and not sure if an extra $1500+ is worth it for the LSD. I will just try to stay out of the rain!

I have the Grand Touring Coupe in Le Mans Sunset. Check out the link to see a pic of the, as my wife calls her, second wife. You know - got to buy her things, treat her well, give her nothing but the best, take her out from time to time, baby her, cloth her, caress her, rub her, and much, much more. Proper maintenance makes her purr and she'll love you right back.

She's even had some jealous looks......from other women and cars.

I am 99% sure im going to get the base now.....but I keep getting nervous hearing about not having the LSD which the enthusiast comes with.....Trying to make myself justify the extra $1500.......I am on a budget but definitley dont want to spend $28k and get something that is truley lacking for only $1500 more....

WHY CANT THERE JUST BE 1 MODEL???? HA!

Ok, I made an offer of $25,800+TTL for the 2006 Base at Sterling McCall here in Houston and they e-mailed me back today and accepted that offer. After reading all of these posts it seems like that is a pretty good deal. Now I just need to decide on the color....PPW or SS??

I am going by the dealership tomorrow to make the final decision.....

Thanks for the input
