New to me 03
Hi Guys..
I bought a new_to_me 03 Z touring coupe.
I bought the car in South Carolina and then drove it home to San Jose CA. Turned the trip into a nice vacation for my wife and myself.
The car is beautiful. Had 37K miles when I picked it up. Now over 41K. Only issue is that tire noise from the front tires. I just have to get that fixed.
I have done the clutch adjustment procedure I read about on this site. Makes the car much more comfortable for me to drive. Have been driving a 944 Porsche for the last ten years and the clutch was *very* different.
I have attached a two photos from our trip. No dings in the car anywhere :-)

I just got my 03 a week ago and had the tire feathering problem corrected with an alignment and two new front tires. You wont believe the difference it will make.
Congrats and welcome!
BTW - I dont see the photos

Congrats, you and your wife both look very happy!
How long did it take you to do the trip? Any particularly interesting stops you made?
I'd like to do that kind of thing too, maybe sometime in the fall when weather should be nice most everywhere.

We did have a nice trip. Took about a week to go from SC to CA. - My wife ahd never been in the south so I wanted to show her the country side. Most interesting times and places:

Andrew Jacksons home (near Nashville)
Graceland (Memphis) - I had been to Memphis many times but never had taken the tour.
Lots of things in Sante Fe NM -
Walnut Canyon national park near Flagstaff (http://www.nps.gov/waca/)
Also did stop to see friends in Texas and in NM.
We had already seen much of the southwest and think it is wonderful. Things like Grand Canyon, Tucson nature park (don't remember the name). Even things like boot hill and old west ghost towns.
I'd advise taking a laptop. Stay in touch with Yahoo Travel. The web site provides lots of user reviews and detailed info about each place you might consider visiting. That way you can budget your time each day rather than planning the entire trip before you leave. - Some parts of the country are too far apart to visit the sites you want to see and then drive to the next planned site. So we just did take things easy and make decisions as we went along.
The car performed very well. It was lots of fun learning about the car as we drove thru the country. Just what all the buttons do and where all the storage features are. There is just enough storage space in the car for two. Very comfortable seating (compared with my Porsche). Very balance of power and fuel economy. I drove ~ 5 MPH over the limit most of the time. OK, till I hit Texas and NM. Then 10 or 15 over. Still I averaged 27 mpg.
I went to Oregon over to Memorial day to visit my dad. Another nice trip. I seem to be able to drive 400 - 600 miles a day without any strain at all. Still relaxed enough to enjoy the visit when we stop.
Had the car aligned and I'm putting new tires on this week. Have to get rid of the growl from the feathering. Then I think the car will be perfect.

Nice pics!! Did you get the 3 year warranty from the original owner? Nissan not paying for the growl is wrong, I believe they had a recall. I would check with your warranty, if Nissan is not paying for it. Anyway, take care and have fun with your Z.
