Default I've had the Z ( 2003-30K ) for a month now, my views

Its a base model, 6 speed in Silverstone. I also have a 94 Supra but I am putting too many miles on it so I got the Z as a daily driver. At first the Z felt pretty claustrophobic to me but that has gotten better.
Things I really like
- The body style in conjunction with the color. I've done the Zaino thing to it and the glossiness from the Silverstone color really stands out especially around the curvy areas like the top of the rear fenders. Its a beautiful body design
- The acceleration is awesome, especially for a non-turboed car. I can get around just about anything I need to. I also like the stock exhaust note, has a nice deep sound, not too loud.
- The handling reminds me alot of the Supra. I just put on some Goodyear F1 GS D3s and now its like riding on rails around the corners. With these tires both cars are very predictable , you take a tight corner then you feel the bite and you can really accelerate out of it
- The suspension is very tight on the Z. I didn't know about the rear towwer strut bar inside of the plastic : Z : thing until I bought. Very good idea except for the initial rattle which I took care of.

Things I don't like:
- This has got to be the worst oil dipstick ever created by man. You can't get it out, you can't read it, you can't get it back in. If it weren't for the little helper wedge thing to get it started, it would never go back in. Its like trying to put a put a strand of cooked spaghetti in there. In order to get a reading you have to let the car sit overnght.
- The console thing is about a foot too far back. You have to be double jointed and be able to turn your head around 180 degrees to use it.
- The view in the driver side mirror with curve of the rear fender, the door handle and the antenna bears a striking resemblence to half of a Darth Vader helmet.

Overall I must really like the car alot because I look forward to driving it and find excuses to take it out all the time.

hehe you're definately right about our dip stick from hell.

I hate that damned thing.

You will fall more and more in love with this car the longer you have it and the more you mod it, trust me

You must have a bad @$$ Supra if you bought a Z for a daily driver. How about some Supra Pics?!?!?

I agree on the negatives. One more to the list is the crappy rear view.

Just put one foot on the edge of the bumber, place finger around dipstick, continue to yank with all your might. or another good idea is place winch hook from your jeep, around the dipstick handel, if your lucky you may catch the radiator after it pops out, good luck all

for you people that dont have winches, just take some rope laying around in the grarage and tie it to the bumber on your honda civic. but no seriosly, all joking aside is there anyway to fix this problem? wd-40 perhaps?

See I knew it took forever to get back in but I thought maybe I was just a puss for not being able to pull it out w/o using all my strength and then calling chuck norris in for backup.

Seriously it is the worst design I've ever seen. Hell why even have a dipstick lol

Only thing I really don't like is backing out of a parking spot and that stupid whatever letter pillar is in the way so you back out blind.

Oh and the stupid center consol button which is conveniently placed right where my elbow sits lol

Welcome to the community geddy lee. Haha, your observations are hilarious in a good way. You just kind of get used to them. It's all worth it they are great drive, especially as you're riding on GS-D3's, one of the best thing IMO that you can do to a Z is ditch the factory RE040's.
