But I finally got my Z!!!

Those of you who saw me change my name, probably thought I got the 06 with the IF paint. Alas, it wasnt meant to be. My finance company backed out of the deal because I work overseas, and the think I might take the car here to afghanistan. I guess so I can drive it on the whopping two decently paved roads in the entire country. Anyway, so, RIP FireZ, I hardly knew ye.

I wanted that sucker too, but every cloud has a silver lining. In this case, I found a 6 speed 04.5 (I think its .5), MB enthusiast, that was going for an awesome price. It just happened to be through the dealer that I originally took my first test drive with. He remembered me mentioning being in Afghanistan and pressed his used car manager to get me a decent deal. (As good as you would expect a dealer to do of course.) He came back with 24 out the door. I felt it was a good price for an enthusiast.

It looks great, and only has 15k miles on it. That and the fact that the warranty is practically out on it, was nearly a deal breaker. Ultimately though, the risks were outweighed by the price point. Now I just have to get home (safely) and pray the iowa weather gives me one day to enjoy my new baby.
Here are the pics... dealer said there were kneepads, so that should make it an 04.5 right? I cant tell if the kneepads are in there or not from the pic.

I don't think you have kneepads from the pics. They would be located on each side of the climate control dials. Check your vin:

Thanks guys. Im so very proud to say Im apart of this community. I think, of the car forums I've been apart of, we have the most mature and intelligent group of people comparitively.

Hehe, thanks insomnia, my son thinks its his. Im glad to see he's following in his old mans footsteps. Now I just have to keep him out of the footsteps where I strayed off the path. I think that this might be the beginning of a shared interest we can have as he grows up. Cars!!!

Anyway, it feels great. What an awesome Christmas gift I have waiting for me at home. Now, what should I buy first before I get home? muahahah Pop charger, here I come!!! Uh oh, the bug has already bitten me.

LoL thanks Zand, I saw the swirl marks, gonna have to do something about that. I asked my mom to buy me some Zaino for christmas.

I hear there is a big car show down in Corpus mid next year. You up for it? I'll drive the Z down from Iowa.

My parents live 20 minutes from Corpus, its where I grew up. They own a bowling alley down there, we can bowl and have some beers!

Thanks guys. I guess I'll be looking into the Iowa regional forums to see if there are any car clubs. It would seem that there are very few, so maybe I'll just form my own. Since Z's seem so rare up there, maybe can just make it a Nissan club.

LOL. Three Z's and a baby eh? Its a good thing Im married, if theres one thing that probably draws more kitty than a Z, its a man with a baby. Sheesh, holding him next to a Z would have them lining up. I have a sneaking suspicion my wife wont ever let me go out in it alone, and especially not with the lil man. LOL
Course, as you can see by my new avatar, I certainly dont need a wandering eye.
