Default Which Z should I buy?

I am looking for my first Z and would just like to here some comments on which one to buy. I am going to race this car at Miller Motorsports Park and SCCA events. So does that automatically point to the Track ed? If so what year is the best 03-04 weighs 3197 w/287 hp, 05-06 weighs 3339 w/300 hp. I know the Track, Performance, and 35th all have Brembos, is there any differences between them performance wise? I have read alot of threads on this forum and it seems like everyone is awesome and jumps at the chance to help people out. Thank you for listening.

03-04 Track Model, lighter weight and easy to bring the HP to the level of the newer Z's. Also, you can get one with less out-of-pocket which you can put towards upgrades. But do your homework on the previous owner and maintenance records. Good luck....

They'll be fine, but you'll need a bigger rad. Many track their TT's. PM me if you're interested.

i have a couple questions. i have read that only the 07 model has come with the VQ35HR motor. is this true and is it worth getting just for that or can i take an older model and easily get it up to par with newer models Zs? because i have found a couple good 04 and 05 with about 45000 miles on them for about 19 to 20K. i will be using it as a daily but really only driving it 3 times a week. i will be taking it to a road track a bunch and then really getting into drifting. i plan to start modding soon. the problem is im a motorcylce track racer and dont know much about cars but i have driven a friends rx8 and a wrx and im fast in both. so who can help me out.

well think about it the stock 03-06 whp is around 225-230 around the 07 is around 260-270 around give or take. for you to gain that your going to be looking at 35-40 whp gain which is a bit unless you go FI or do a bit of N/A improvements
