almost have my Z
i drive an auto 2003 as well and i take most other z's which im sure are 6 speed. i have the nismo exhaust, random technology high flow cats, and the injen intake. not many mods and still beating manuals. obviously they arent the best of drivers but most arent anyway. enjoy the car, you will definitely love it. most of the 2003 manuals had weak trannys in and had to get them swapped. my friend went through 3 2003 manual trannys already so that will def make you feel better about the auto, on the other hand he ran a 13.6 with the injen intake only which may be y he went through tranys lol

Automatic vs manual has been done many times before. I call them Automatic vs Manual wars, and this might be A vs M War XXV.
Members know intuitively if they are automatic or manual drivers. If you know and enjoy the challenge of shifting, it is next to impossible to recommend a automatic. In 35 years of driving, I have never bought a vehicle with a automatic transmission. I enjoy shifting, and the many techniques involved in using the clutch. If the automatic is for you, then do it: its still a 350Z.

Ya, my recommendation is don't. 350z's are classy sports cars (IMO). I'm not a big fan of altezza's and CF personally.
In the end though, it is YOUR car, and you should put whatever YOU like on it.

I'm in AZ too and I know what you mean about the traffic. I have an AT as well, and there's really no difference other than you aren't physically doing the shifting. As you know you still can also use the manual shift anyway...I use both the AT and the manual mode.
You can do all the same mods to MTs and ATs, they're all Z's, so have fun and enjoy!

I spend a lot of time driving in extremely heavy traffic so I have an AT, but the great thing is you have manual mode just waiting for you to thrust it across.
My car was on display yesterday at one the biggest car shows NZ has, 2nd week running, and this guy had just been looking at the Lotus display next to our Z display, and comes and looks at the specs on my car, and goes wow to his mate, "this Z will waste that Lotus", haha, does that make you feel any better about driving an AT? They're all fast given the right driver.
